An axial turbomachine comprising a compression device with a variable-orientation vane rectifier stage; a combustion chamber downstream of the compression device; a turbine device downstream of the combustion chamber; and a leak passage of air compressed by the compression device, between the compression device and the turbine device for cooling the turbine device; and where the rectifier stage is configured to modulate the section of the leak passage according to the orientation of the vanes of the stage.
REVERSIBLE BLEED CONFIGURATION
An airflow arrangement for a gas turbine engine in which air can be selectively directed to and from a bypass channel of the engine and into a duct communicating air into a compressor of a gas turbine engine.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING A DEAD ZONE OF A TURBOMACHINE DISCHARGE VALVE
The invention relates to a method for estimating a dead zone at closing of a flap (P1) of a discharge valve (VBV1) of a turbomachine, in which the actual position of the actuator (V1) is measured for a setpoint closing signal of the flap (P1), a static angle is determined from the actual position, a closing dead zone is determined, corresponding to the fact that the joint (J1) is compressed so as to not let the primary flow pass through the orifice (01) in the secondary flow, by the fact that the dead zone is equal to a reference dead zone, which has been predetermined on a reference turbomachine operating on the ground, to which the measured static angle has been added and from which a reference static angle, which has been predetermined on the reference turbomachine operating in flight, has been subtracted.
Centrifugal compressor and turbocharger
A centrifugal compressor includes: an impeller; a compressor inlet tube configured to guide air to the impeller; a scroll flow passage disposed on a radially outer side of the impeller; a bypass flow passage branching from the scroll flow passage via a branch port, the bypass flow passage connecting to the compressor inlet tube not via the impeller; and a bypass valve capable of opening and closing a valve port disposed in the bypass flow passage. The branch port has a non-circular shape when viewed along a normal N1 of the branch port passing through a center of the branch port.
Bleed air extraction device for a gas turbine engine
The invention relates to a bleed air extraction device for a turbomachine, which has: an axial compressor, formed in a flow path and having at least one compressor stage, which comprises a rotor and a stator, and a bleed air duct, which is provided and designed to guide a bleed air flow branched off from the flow path of the axial compressor. In this case, the bleed air duct comprises an inlet opening, which is formed downstream of a stator of the axial compressor in the radially outer flow path boundary, an axially forward wall adjoining the inlet opening, and an axially rearward wall adjoining the inlet opening. Guide means are provided, which are provided and designed for the purpose of guiding at least a portion of the bleed air flow branched off from the flow path in the direction of the axially forward wall of the bleed air duct.
PASSIVE ACTIVE POPPET-TYPE BLEED VALVES
A bleed valve for an air plenum includes a valve body having a poppet seat, a poppet supported by the valve body and movable relative to the poppet seat, and piston slideable relative to the poppet and movable relative to the poppet between an extended position and a retracted position. Gas turbine engines and methods of bleeding fluid from gas turbine engines are also described.
Speed-controlled conditioning valve for high pressure compressor
A rotor for a gas turbine engine has: a first rotor disk; an interstage flange that extends from the first rotor disk to a flange end portion that has an axial end surface and first radial outer and inner surfaces; a circumferential groove, formed in the flange end portion and extending from the axial end surface toward the first rotor disk; radial outer and inner slots formed in the first radial outer and inner surfaces along the circumferential groove and extend through the first radial outer and inner surfaces; and a valve member disposed within the circumferential groove and is secured within the circumferential groove when the flange end portion is connected to a second rotor disk, wherein the valve member deflects from rotor rotational speeds to seal or unseal the radial outer slot.
PRESSURE REGULATOR AND BLEED AIR SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT ENGINE
Pressure regulators together with associated methods and systems are provided. An embodiment of a pressure regulator includes a chamber having an inlet port for receiving a fluid and an outlet port for delivering the fluid at a regulated pressure. The pressure regulator includes a diaphragm defining at least part of the chamber, and the diaphragm defining a first orifice therethrough. The pressure regulator includes a spring configured to interact with the diaphragm. The pressure regulator includes an interface operatively disposed between the spring and the diaphragm. The interface includes a contact surface for contacting the diaphragm, and the contact surface is convex toward the diaphragm. The interface defines a second orifice therethrough that is in fluid communication with the first orifice in the diaphragm. The first and second orifices define a relief port for venting the chamber to an ambient environment external to the chamber.
