Thrust runner vibration dampening spring in electrical submersible pump
A submersible pump assembly has a seal section between the motor and the well fluid pump, the seal section having a housing, a shaft and a thrust bearing unit. The thrust bearing unit includes a thrust runner mounted to the shaft that rotates against a thrust bearing base fixed in the housing. An annular, metal thrust runner wave spring has an inner diameter surface in contact with the shaft and an outer diameter surface in contact with the runner bore. The wave spring has a transverse width between the inner diameter surface and the outer diameter surface that is elastically deflectable, exerting an inward bias force against the shaft and an outward bias force against the runner bore.
Fluid pump assembly
A fluid pump assembly is provided. The pump has a pair of units magnetically coupled to each other. The first unit contains a drive motor and a magnetic assembly. The second unit contains a magnetic assembly and a blade of a propeller/impeller for imparting movement to a fluid. As the first unit is activated by the drive motor, a magnetic flux is created which in turn rotates the magnetic assembly in the second unit, driving the blade.
Magnetically coupled sealless centrifugal pump
A magnetically driven centrifugal pump has a pump case, an open vane impeller in the pump case, a stuffing box including a stuffing box outer being fixed relative to the pump case and a stuffing box inner threadedly engaged with the stuffing box outer, and a rotor axially fixed and rotatably mounted in the stuffing box inner. Bushings are arranged between the rotor and the stuffing box inner. A drive is fixed relative to the pump case and includes a drive output extending into the rotor. There is a magnetic coupling between the rotor and the drive and a canister fixed to the stuffing box and extending through the magnetic coupling to isolate the rotor from the drive. A rub ring closes the end of the stuffing box inner and constrains the drive output from damaging the canister under catastrophic bearing failure.
TAPERED THRUST BEARING FOR PUMPING SYSTEM
A system includes a drive shaft and a diffuser positioned around the drive shaft to transmit a flow of fluid. The system also includes an impeller that is rotatable with the drive shaft to induce the flow of fluid through the diffuser. Additionally, the system includes a tapered thrust bearing positionable to receive a downhole force from a pumping stage. The tapered thrust bearing includes a flange sleeve positioned around the drive shaft. The flange sleeve includes a tapered mating surface. The tapered thrust bearing also includes a stationary bushing positioned around the flange sleeve. The stationary bushing includes a tapered receiving surface to receive the tapered mating surface of the flange sleeve.
PUMP CASING AND MAGNET PUMP INCLUDING THE SAME
A pump casing defines an inner space including an inlet into which a fluid is introduced, a flow path through which the fluid is introduced from the inlet and discharged to the outside, and an arrangement space in which an impeller rotated about a predetermined central axis is disposed so as to guide flow of the fluid. The pump casing includes a suction casing which forms the inlet, a volute casing which forms the flow path, and the introduced fluid is discharged to the outside by the impeller. The volute casing forms the arrangement space in which the impeller is disposed, and the pump casing further includes a fluid guide device which is disposed in the inner space to guide movement of the fluid which is moved from the inlet toward the arrangement space.
Oil field pump
An oil field pump installed within a pipe that connects to an oil field, feeds accumulated extraction oil in a predetermined direction and includes a rotor, a stator mounted on the outer circumference of the rotor, a flow path for flow of the extraction oil connecting an area formed within the rotor to an area formed between the rotor and the stator, a thrust bearing that supports the axial weight of the rotor and the stator, and a supply pipe that supplies a portion of the extraction oil in the flow path to the thrust bearing. The thrust bearing includes a protrusion part fixed to the outer circumference of the rotor and rotating as one piece with the rotor, and a facing part fixed to the stator and facing opposite a surface in the axial direction of the protrusion.
BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH CATALYST-FREE ULTRA-STRONG POLYCRYSTALLINE DIAMOND (PCD) MATERIAL
An electrical submersible pumping system includes thrust bearings and radial bearings fabricated from a micro-grained polycrystalline diamond compact (“USPDC”) material that is ultra-strong; and where the USPDC is produced using a catalyst free process. In examples, all components of the bearings are formed from the ultra-strong USPDC material. Pads are in the bearings that have a contact surface, and the pads selectively tilt about a tilt member in response to variations in an opposing contact surface. The tilt members are attached to or otherwise associated with the pads, and are in contact with a resilient member that improves tilting response of the pads. The resilient members are encased in jackets that cover surfaces of the resilient members not in contact with the tilt members. The jackets are set in channels formed in structure of the bearings.
HYBRID MAGNETIC THRUST BEARING IN AN ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMP (ESP) ASSEMBLY
An electric submersible pump (ESP) assembly. The ESP assembly comprises an electric motor, a centrifugal pump, and a hybrid magnetic thrust bearing, wherein the hybrid magnetic thrust bearing is disposed inside the electric motor or disposed inside the centrifugal pump.
INLINE, ONE MOVING PART PUMP FOR ISOLATED FLUID CHANNELS
A pump assembly can pump fluid with a single moving part, where the single moving part is free floating, inline within a sealed fluid path. The pump includes a stator core having a cylindrical shape with an opening through it. The stator includes electromagnetic coils arranged around a lateral surface of the stator core extending away from the center of the stator core. The pump assembly includes an impeller to spin within the cylindrical opening of the stator in response to selective charging of the electromagnetic coils. The impeller includes a cylindrical body having blades that align with the electromagnetic coils to create a magnetic flux path between selected coils through the impeller in response to selective charging of the electromagnetic coils.
Mechanical seal protector for ESP seal sections
A seal section for use in a downhole submersible pumping system includes one or more fluid separation mechanisms, a shaft, a mechanical seal chamber and a mechanical seal inside the mechanical seal chamber. The seal section further comprises a mechanical seal protector around the mechanical seal. The mechanical seal protector includes a cap that surrounds a portion of the mechanical seal and a filter screen. The cap may also include one or more expulsion ports extending through the cap. The cap may be stationary or connected to the shaft and configured for rotation.
