Fuel compositions from light tight oils and high sulfur fuel oils

Methods are provided to prepare a low sulfur fuel from hydrocarbon sources, such as light tight oil and high sulfur fuel oil, often less desired by conventional refiners, who split crude into a wide range of differing products and may prefer presence of wide ranges (C3 or C5 to C20 or higher) of hydrocarbons. These fuels can be produced by separating feeds into untreated and treated streams, and then recombining them. Such fuels can also be formulated by combinations of light, middle and heavy range constituents in a selected manner as claimed. Not only low in sulfur, the fuels of this invention are also low in nitrogen and essentially metals free. Fuel use applications include on-board large marine transport vessels but also on-shore for large land based combustion gas turbines, boilers, fired heaters and transport vehicles and trains.

Low profile overhead bearing assembly for pump bearing assembly

An improved pump and sealing assembly having particular utility to vertically extending pumps/pump shafts provides an arrangement that enables field repair as opposed to requiring travel of the host vessel to a shipyard. The apparatus includes an adapter housing that is configured to provide easy access to set screws that enable field disassembly. This adapter housing carries a sleeve and a bearing. The adapter housing can be fitted to a pump seal assembly that can include a mechanical seal and under bearing assembly.

APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING CLEARANCE AND GAS TURBINE INCLUDING THE SAME

A clearance adjusting apparatus to move a thrust bearing of a gas turbine back and forth to adjust a tip clearance of a turbine is provided. The clearance adjusting apparatus includes an adjusting plate disposed to move forward from or rearward to a reference surface, a biasing cylinder disposed to selectively move the adjusting plate back and forth, a stopper disposed to be moved toward the adjusting plate after being moved forward to prevent a rearward movement of the adjusting plate, a position sensor disposed to measure a distance from the reference surface to the adjusting plate, and a controller configured to receive information about measurements from the position sensor and control an operation of the stopper and the biasing cylinder based on the received information.

Intermediate Bearing In Electrical Submersible Pump

A submersible well fluid pump has diffusers non-rotatably mounted in a pump housing. A drive shaft rotates an impeller between each of the diffusers. A bearing is positioned between and in abutment with two of the diffusers. An annular recess encircles an outer wall of the bearing. A wave spring has undulations with inward protruding indentations in contact with a base of the recess and outward protruding indentations in engagement with an inner wall of the housing. The wave spring is split and radially compressed between the base of the recess and the housing inner wall.

A bearing housing for a flow machine includes a bearing chamber configured to receive a bearing, and a lubricant chamber arranged at the bearing chamber and configured to receive a lubricant. The bearing chamber is in fluid communication with the lubricant chamber via an opening such that the lubricant is capable of flowing between the bearing chamber and the lubricant chamber. The bearing housing includes a wall portion with a cooling fin to dissipate heat of the lubricant to an environment. The cooling fin includes a conduit for the lubricant through which conduit the lubricant chamber and the bearing chamber are in fluid communication such that the lubricant is capable of being conducted from the lubricant chamber into the bearing chamber through the conduit to dissipate the heat to the environment.
