THRUST-BALANCING WET GAS COMPRESSOR
A contra-rotating compressor includes a first shaft assembly disposed in a housing, the first shaft assembly including an outer shaft, and a first plurality of impellers coupled to the outer shaft, wherein the outer shaft includes a final stage that includes a final impeller of the first plurality of impellers, a second shaft assembly disposed in the housing and rotatable about the longitudinal axis, the second shaft assembly including a second plurality of impellers, a first pair of annular seals between the final stage and an inner surface of the housing, the pair of annular seals being configured to permit relative rotation between the final stage and the housing, and a third annular seal positioned between the outer surface of the final stage and an inner surface of the second shaft assembly, the third annular seal configured to permit contra-rotation between the final stage and the second shaft assembly.
Gas turbine engine compressor
A high pressure compressor rotor stack includes a bore basket that includes a bore basket internal passage. A first plurality of rotor stages at least partially defines a forward rotor bore with a forward hub structure and the bore basket. A second plurality of rotor stages at least partially defines an aft rotor bore with an aft hub structure and the bore basket.
Seal assembly
A seal assembly for a rotatable component having an axis of rotation. The seal assembly may include a first seal mounted to a housing and configured to be in sealing engagement with the rotatable component, a second seal mounted to the housing an axial distance apart from the first seal and configured to be in sealing engagement with the rotatable component, wherein the axial distance is parallel with the axis of rotation, a buffer fluid chamber defined between the first seal and the second seal, and a buffer fluid inlet in fluid providing communication with the buffer fluid chamber.
A CENTRIFUGAL TURBO-COMPRESSOR
The centrifugal turbo-compressor (2) includes a hermetic casing; a drive shaft (6); a first and a second compression stage (12, 13) configured to compress a refrigerant and respectively including a first and a second impeller (18, 19) connected to the drive shaft (6) and being arranged in a back-to-back configuration; an interstage sealing device provided between the first and second impellers (18, 19). The hermetic casing includes a main casing portion (4) in which are arranged the first and second compression stages (12, 13) and the inter-stage sealing device. The first and second compression stage (12, 13) respectively includes a first and a second aerodynamic member (29, 31) each having an annular disc shape and respectively facing front-sides (21, 22) of the first and second impellers (18, 19).
Centrifugal compressor
A centrifugal compressor includes a rotor including: a shaft that extends along an axis and an impeller that is fixed to an outer surface of the shaft and feeds a fluid that flows into a first side in an axial direction to an outer side in a radial direction of the axis under pressure; a diaphragm that surrounds the impeller from an outer circumference side; a first casing head disposed at a second side of the diaphragm in the axial direction at an interval; a seal device disposed between the first casing head and the shaft; and a bearing device disposed at the second side in the axial direction with respect to the seal device and disposed between the first casing head and the shaft.
REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR SEAL ARRANGEMENTS
A centrifugal compressor for HVAC application includes a rotary component rotatable about an axis, a static component, and a brush seal fixed to one of the static component and the rotary component. The brush seal includes bristles that contact the other of the static component and the rotary component.
Intershaft seal assembly
An intershaft seal assembly comprises an annular seal ring disposed between a pair of annular runners connected to a hollow outer rotating shaft, and a surface of a co-axial inner rotating shaft. The centrifugal force resulting from rotation of the hollow outer rotating shaft effects engagement of the annular seal ring with the surface of the co-axial inner rotating shaft. The surface may be a radially-inward-facing surface of a retaining arm connected to the co-axial inner rotating shaft.
Compressor end head heating arrangement
A compressor end head for providing a thermal barrier to a mechanical seal includes an inner end head having an inner end head opening, inner end head grooves in the inner end head opening, configured to place and seal an end portion of a compressor shaft; and an outer end head having an outer end head opening configured to enclose the inner end head.
Compressor rotor structure
Compressor rotor structure for turbomachinery, such as a compressor, is provided. Disclosed embodiments can benefit from sealing sleeves that may be arranged to inhibit passage onto respective hirth couplings of process fluid being processed by the compressor. The sealing sleeves may be affixed to adjoining structures (e.g., adjoining impeller bodies) by way of a slip fit connection to one of the adjoining structures and an interference fit connection with respect to the other adjoining structure, which is conducive to a user-friendly assembly of the sealing sleeves with the adjoining structures.
Centrifugal compressor
A centrifugal compressor includes a rotation shaft, an impeller, a housing including a first chamber, a second chamber of which pressure is lower than the first chamber, and a partition wall that partitions the first chamber and the second chamber and includes a through hole through which the rotation shaft is inserted, and a seal member arranged in the housing. The seal member includes a gas seal and a support. When the rotation shaft is rotating, the gas seal surrounds an outer circumferential surface of the rotation shaft in a non-contact state in which dynamic pressure forms a gap between the gas seal and the outer circumferential surface of the rotation shaft. The support supports the gas seal in a state in which the gas seal is movable in a direction intersecting an axial direction of the rotation shaft.
