Turbocharger compressor oil deflector and method
A turbocharger includes a two-piece thrust collar that includes inner and outer portions disposed around a rotatable shaft. The inner portion is engaged with a bushing disposed in and connected to the center housing by a retainer. The outer portion is disposed adjacent the inner portion along the rotatable shaft and connected to the rotatable shaft such that it rotates therewith. The outer portion forms an annular channel that extends in a radial direction relative to the rotatable shaft and peripherally around the shaft. An oil deflector is connected to the compressor back-plate and includes a base flange and a raised portion disposed at least partially over the annular channel.
COMPRESSOR HAVING A SEALING CHANNEL
A compressor having a housing and a rotor, the rotor having a compressor impeller at least on one side; a compressor chamber being configured between the compressor impeller and the housing; the rotor being rotationally mounted; an annular sealing channel being configured between the rotor and the housing; the sealing channel being routed from the compressor chamber to a lower-pressure zone; at least two throttling sections being provided in the sealing channel; in each of the two throttling sections, in the direction of flow viewed from the compressor chamber to the lower-pressure zone, a first section having a reduction in the cross section of the sealing channel being first provided, and a second section having an enlargement of the cross section of the sealing channel being subsequently provided.
Gas seal column pump
The gas seal column pump may comprise a pump drive, a gas seal column, a seal gas control box, and a pump. A drive motor of the pump drive, the gas seal column, and the pump may comprise a hermetically sealed, vertically-oriented, pumping system where the gas seal column is operable to replace mechanical seals around a drive shaft that couples the drive motor to the pump. A pressurized seal gas pumped into the drive motor and the gas seal column may displace corrosive fumes and the product being pumped. A product level may be sensed using a plurality of level sensors. Responsive to inputs from the level sensors, a seal gas control box may regulate the pressure of the seal gas using a plurality of valves. A bearing shaft adapter may be added to provide a special drive shaft of other lengths, diameters, or materials.
Rotating machine
A rotating machine includes: a rotary shaft that is configured to rotate about a center axis; an impeller that is fixed to the rotary shaft and that is configured to compress a working fluid by integrally rotating with the rotary shaft; a casing that covers the rotary shaft; a first seal portion that is disposed at a position away from the impeller in a center axis direction of the rotary shaft and that is configured to seal a portion between the rotary shaft and the casing with a seal gas; a second seal portion that is disposed between the impeller and the first seal portion and that is configured to seal a portion between the rotary shaft and the casing; and a gas supply path through which the seal gas is introduced into the first seal portion.
Intershaft seal assembly
An intershaft seal assembly comprises an annular seal ring disposed between a pair of annular runners connected to a hollow outer rotating shaft, and a surface of a co-axial inner rotating shaft. The centrifugal force resulting from rotation of the hollow outer rotating shaft effects engagement of the annular seal ring with the surface of the co-axial inner rotating shaft. The surface may be a radially-inward-facing surface of a retaining arm connected to the co-axial inner rotating shaft.
REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR SEAL ARRANGEMENTS
A centrifugal compressor for HVAC application includes a rotary component rotatable about an axis, a static component, and a brush seal fixed to one of the static component and the rotary component. The brush seal includes bristles that contact the other of the static component and the rotary component.
Seal assembly for use in gas turbine engines
A seal housing may comprise an aft flange, an outer diameter (OD) ring and a stopper. The stopper may extend radially inward from a radially inner surface of OD ring. The stopper may be configured to interface with a monobloc carbon seal. The stopper may comprise a circumferential stopping portion and an axial stopping portion. There may be a plurality of the stopper.
BALANCING RING ANTI-ROTATION SPACER
A rotating assembly for a gas turbine engine has a balancing ring mounted to a first rotating component having a rotating unbalance about an axis of rotation. The ring is clocked at a circumferential position about the axis to counteract the rotating unbalance. A spacer is axially abutted against the first rotating component to set an axial position of the first rotating component relative to a second rotating component. The balancing ring is locked against rotation relative to the first rotating component in its circumferential position by the dual use spacer.
TURBO FLUID MACHINE
A turbo fluid machine includes a housing having a motor chamber, a turbine chamber, a first shaft hole, and a second shaft hole; a drive shaft; and a sealing member that seals a gap between the motor chamber and the turbine chamber. The sealing member includes a first sealing member and a second sealing member that is located away from the first sealing member and between the first sealing member and the turbine chamber in an axial direction of the drive shaft. The drive shaft, the second shaft hole, the first sealing member, and the second sealing member cooperate to form a reservoir in which water contained in exhaust from a fuel cell is stored. The housing has a water discharge passage which is communicated with the reservoir and through which the water is discharged from the reservoir to an outside of the housing.
Refrigerant compressor seal arrangements
A centrifugal compressor for HVAC application includes a rotary component rotatable about an axis, a static component, and a brush seal fixed to one of the static component and the rotary component. The brush seal includes bristles that contact the other of the static component and the rotary component.
