The rotor is configured to rotate the impeller in response to the rotating electromagnetic field. The impeller is configured to pump a coolant when rotated. One or more components of the electric coolant pump system thermally expand and contract as the coolant is heated and cooled.

LEAK RESISTANT PUMP
20180355973 · 2018-12-13 ·

An improved leak resistant pump with sealing system for preventing leakage of a fluid from a housing. The sealing system has a housing, wherein the housing contains the fluid. A shaft penetrates the housing. A narrow fluid flow path directs a leaked fluid from the housing. A labyrinth seal constrains the leaked fluid from the narrow fluid flow path. A stationary seal constrains a flow of the leaked fluid from the labyrinth seal and a grease seal for constraining the flow of the leaked fluid from the stationary seal.

REGENERATIVE PUMP START STAGE FOR HIGH SPEED CENTRIFUGAL FUEL PUMP

A centrifugal pump includes a selectable regenerative style pumping element, including a regenerative pump rotor and at least one side wall flow channel formed by a rotating disc. The regenerative pumping element is selectable between a first state in which the disc does not rotate with the impeller and a second state in which the disc rotates with the impeller.

Lip seal for water pump

Disclosed is a lip seal for water pump made of a rubber-like elastic material, fixed to a housing as a fixed side and in sliding contact with a shaft rotating relative to the housing; the lip seal having sliding surface with a surface roughness Ra (according to JIS B0601 corresponding to ISO 4287) of 1 to 30 m, being obtained by vulcanization-molding of a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of the rubber-like elastic material, 1 to 150 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 5 to 90 parts by weight of a non-reinforcing filler having an average particle diameter of 1 m or more, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a coupling agent, 1 to 15 parts by weight of a co-crosslinking agent, and 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an organic peroxide. The lip seal effects to prevent softening and volume swelling of the rubber-like elastic material and furthermore the generation of deposits in the rotating shaft, which are problematic for rotation torque and LLC resistance.

SHAFT COUPLING AND PUMP APPARATUS

The present invention relates to a shaft coupling (also referred to as a spacer coupling) that couples a motor shaft and a pump shaft while both shafts are spaced from each other. The present invention is further relates to a pump apparatus having such a shaft coupling. The shaft coupling (10) includes: a first inner circumferential surface (23) capable of contacting an outer circumferential surface of a motor shaft (6); a second inner circumferential surface (24) capable of contacting an outer circumferential surface of a pump shaft (1); a step portion (26) protruding radially inwardly from the first inner circumferential surface (23) and capable of contacting an end portion of the motor shaft (6); and a spacer portion (28) located between the step portion (26) and the second inner circumferential surface (24).

Wear Ring for Use in a Pump
20180306200 · 2018-10-25 ·

A device is disclosed including a wear ring made with thermoplastic material formed as a hollow cylinder with an inside diameter and an outside diameter. The hollow cylinder may have multiple holes through at least a portion of the thermoplastic material from the inside diameter towards the outside diameter. The multiple holes may be passages between the inside diameter and the outside diameter that allow fluid under pressure to pass between the inside diameter and the outside diameter through the multiple holes.
