Gas turbine engine with blade channel variations
A gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a propulsor including a rotor hub and an array of blades circumferentially spaced about the rotor hub, a geared architecture, a compressor section and a turbine section. Each blade includes pressure and suction sides and extends in a radial direction from a 0% span position at an inner flow path location to a 100% span position at an airfoil tip, adjacent blades in the array of blades including a first blade and a second blade, a facing pressure side of the first blade and a facing suction side of the second blade defining a channel having a width that varies in a chordwise direction between the facing pressure and suction sides at a given span position of the first and second blades. The width at each pressure side location of the first blade along the channel is defined as a minimum distance from the respective pressure side location to a location along the suction side of the second blade, and the width of the channel converges in the chordwise direction to establish a throat.
COUNTER-ROTATING AXIAL AIR MOVING DEVICE
A counter-rotating axial air moving device is disclosed. A front rotor includes a front hub, front first blades, a front annular sheet, front second blades, a front first radial zone and a front second radial zone. A rear rotor is disposed on a rear side of the front rotor and includes a rear hub, rear first blades, a rear annular sheet, rear second blades, a rear first radial zone and a rear second radial zone. A better performance is achieved by optimal matching designs of each radial partition, and the deterioration of vibration and noise is avoided.
PROCESSES AND TOOLING ASSOCIATED WITH COATING APPLICATION
A drench system includes a rotating mount to rotate a workpiece, a showerhead to dispense a fluid onto the workpiece; and a tray to collect the fluid and recirculate the fluid to the shower. A method of repairing or remanufacturing a coating includes abrading a surface to at least partially remove a portion of a coating to leave an abraded surface; applying a sol-gel over the abraded surface; applying a corrosion resistant primer onto the sol-gel; and applying an erosion coating onto the corrosion resistant primer.
COOLING FAN AND COOLING FAN MODULE
A cooling fan has a fan shroud with a fan wheel recess surrounded by a shroud ring and a fan wheel rotatably mounted in the fan wheel recess for conveying the air flow along a conveying direction from a shroud upper side to a shroud underside. The fan wheel has a central hub cup with radially orientated blades and an outer ring connecting the blades at the blade tip ends. A circumferential ring gap is formed between the outer ring and the shroud ring. A rib structure in the ring gap reduces swirl in a gap flow orientated against the conveying direction. A shroud ring section of the shroud ring extends axially beyond the outer ring on the shroud underside. The shroud ring section is orientated parallel or at an angle of inclination and radially inwards relative to the conveying direction.
COOLING FAN
A cooling fan includes a hub, a plurality of blades, and a plurality of flow disturbing elements. The blades are arranged on a peripheral surface of the hub; each of the blades has a leading edge and a trailing edge opposite to the leading edge, and each of the blades has at least one flow disturbing element arranged at the trailing edge. Each of the flow disturbing elements includes an engaging part and an extending part opposite to the engaging part; the engaging part of each of the flow disturbing elements is connected to the trailing edge of the corresponding blade, and the extending part of each of the flow disturbing elements extends outwardly toward a direction away from the trailing edge of the corresponding blade.
Ceiling fan with mounting assembly
A ceiling fan assembly or similar air-moving device can include a motor for rotating one or more blades to drive a volume of air about a space. The ceiling fan assembly can include a ceiling fan mount with a dual axis gimble. The dual axis gimble can be received by a mounting bracket so that at least a first and second axis of rotation are provided to the ceiling fan assembly.
A COMPOSITE AIRFOIL WITH FUSE ARCHITECTURE
An airfoil material loss control structure is provided. This structure includes at least one fuse zone that, during impact from a foreign object, fail before the surrounding structure. In a further aspect, a rotary machine is provided. This rotary machine includes a ducted fan gas turbine engine including a composite airfoil with at least one fuse zone.
COMPACT AND QUIET FAN
A fan includes an annular frame, a rail assembly, a driving member and blades. The blades are connected to the driving member. The driving member is electromagnetically movable along the maglev assembly that extends along an edge of the annular frame. The driving member does not contact the annular frame or the maglev assembly so that when the fan is used, the maglev assembly is energized to generate an electromagnetic force between the maglev assembly and the driving member to move the driving member along the edge of the annular frame to drive the blades to rotate. Therefore, the blades can be rotated without having to use any motor behind the annular frame, thereby reducing the volume of the fan.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN INJECTION MOLDED PART, INJECTION MOLD AND FAN IMPELLER
A method produces an injection molded part. A plastic material is injected into a cavity for forming the injection molded part. The plastic material in a flow line region of the cavity, where the plastic material from two directions coincides during an injection molding process, is at least partially removed from the cavity via at least two overflow points and, in so doing, is locally swirled or mixed between the overflow points.
Ventilation device and vehicle with a ventilation device
A ventilation device has a holder, in particular a ventilation frame, with a substantially circular continuous opening for receiving a ventilation wheel rotating about the central axis, thereof. The opening is bordered by an edge face running substantially cylinder-symmetrically about the central axis. As the edge face in two separate, diametrically opposed peripheral sections the radius is at least partly enlarged in comparison to the cylinder-symmetrical form in the remaining peripheral sections, and/or a circular projection of she edge face, which projection projects radially inwards, is axially offset away from a space provided for the ventilation wheel. Because of she corresponding shaping of the edge face of the opening, contact and/or development of noise between the ventilation wheel and the edge of the opening is prevented in the ventilation frame in the event of a yawing of the ventilation wheel.
