COMPRESSOR VANE OR BLADE FOR ENGINE

When a compressor vane or blade for an engine is used in an environment containing abundant foreign substances, deposits originated from the foreign substances are likely to deposit on surfaces of the vane or blade. The compressor vane or blade according to the present disclosure has a base body of the compressor vane or blade; and a coating covering the base body, which consists essentially of one or more selected from the group of molybdenum disulfide and tungsten disulfide.

NACELLE SHORT INLET
20170298954 · 2017-10-19 ·

A fan assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a fan including a plurality of fan blades. Each fan blade extends radially outwardly from a fan hub to a blade tip. The plurality of blade tips define a fan diameter. A nacelle surrounds the fan and defines a fan inlet upstream of the fan, relative to an airflow direction into the fan. The nacelle has a forwardmost edge defining an inlet length from the forwardmost edge to a leading edge of a fan blade of the plurality of fan blades. A ratio of inlet length to fan diameter is between 0.20 and 0.45. A nacelle inner surface defines a nacelle flowpath. The nacelle flowpath has a convex throat portion and a concave diffusion portion between the throat portion and the leading edge of the fan blade at a bottommost portion of the nacelle.

APPARATUS FOR MACHINING COMPONENTS OF GAS TURBINE ENGINES

Apparatus for machining a component of a gas turbine engine, the apparatus including: a flexible pipe having a first end and a second end and defining a conduit for receiving a fluid; one or more first actuators arranged to enable the first end of the flexible pipe to be re-positioned relative to the second end of the flexible pipe; a turbine positioned adjacent to the first end of the flexible pipe, the turbine being arranged to receive fluid from the conduit of the flexible pipe; and a tool head coupled to the first end of the flexible pipe, the tool head including: a fastener arranged to fasten to a tool and to receive torque from the turbine.

CONTRA-FLOW STRIPS, CONTRA-FLOW SEAL SEGMENTS, AND METHODS FOR INHIBITING LEAKAGE

Disclosed embodiments relate to a combination axial fan and LED lighting system configured to fit into the footprint of a standard ceiling tile. Disclosed embodiments further include ceiling tiles with a built-in fan and/or LED lighting. The disclosed systems may include a housing container and an axial fan. The fan has a fan cavity including air diversion mechanism to direct air from the fan cavity toward the lighting and fan components. The inventions include an airflow surface to direct air existing the fan cavity along an LED light fixture. Moreover, disclosed embodiments include one or more UV light sources which irradiate contaminants as air flows through the ceiling tile.

Fan and inlet guide grid for a fan
11255346 · 2022-02-22 · ·

A fan (radial or axial fan), with an impeller and with a preguide device in the flow path in front of the impeller, preferably in front of the inlet region of an inlet nozzle, has the preguide device as a preguide grid with webs and/or guide vanes which are arranged and shaped such that flow influencing in the circumferential direction occurs for a substantially swirl-free inflow.

Axial flow cooling fan with centripetally guiding stator vanes
09790959 · 2017-10-17 · ·

A generator system that includes an engine and an alternator which is driven by the engine to generate electrical power. A radiator is connected to the engine and an axial fan directs air toward the radiator to cool the radiator. A plurality of static vanes is located between the axial fan and the radiator. Each static vane includes an inner end and an outer end, the inner ends of the static vanes being joined together. The static vanes are curved in a plane orthogonal to the rotation axis in order to direct the air towards the axis, thereby counterbalancing the centrifugal forces. The static vanes may be twisted, the pitch angle increasing from 0 degree at hub to circa 45 degrees at tip. Additionally, each static vane is attached to the shroud via a third member that extends axially, thereby allowing an axial offset between shroud and static vanes.

Integrated fan drive system for air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHE)
09823022 · 2017-11-21 · ·

An air-cooled heat exchanger (ACHE) for cooling process fluids used in an industrial process. In one embodiment, the ACHE is configured as a forced-draft ACHE. A support structure supports the forced draft ACHE above grade. A tube bundle is supported by the structure and is configured to receive process fluids used in an industrial process. A plenum is connected to the support structure, positioned beneath the tube bundle and configured to direct air-flow through the tube bundle. A fan is supported by the support structure and positioned beneath the plenum. Rotation of the fan produces an air-flow that is directed through the tube bundle by the plenum. A fan drive system is supported by the support structure, positioned beneath the fan and comprises a permanent magnet motor comprising a motor casing, a stator and a rotatable shaft, the rotatable shaft being connected to the fan.
