Turbofan engine, cooling system and method of cooling an electric machine
The gas turbine engine can have an air mover configured for generating a flow of air around a rotation axis; a surface extending around the rotation axis delimiting a passage for the flow of air downstream of the air mover; an electric machine disposed within the passage and coupled to the air mover; a coolant circuit having: an evaporator circumferentially disposed around at least part of the electric machine and in thermal communication therewith; a condenser having a surface cooler circumferentially disposed at least partially around the surface and in thermal communication therewith; a first conduit fluidly connecting an upper region of the evaporator to an upper region of the condenser; and a second conduit fluidly connecting a lower region of the condenser to a lower region of the evaporator; and a coolant fluid in the coolant circuit.
Centrifugal compressor impeller cooling
A centrifugal compressor including: a casing; at least one impeller supported for rotation in the casing and provided with a hub, a shroud and an impeller eye; an impeller-eye sealing arrangement, for sealing the impeller in the region of said impeller eye. The centrifugal compressor further includes at least one cooling-medium portlocated at the impeller-eye sealing arrangement, arranged for delivering a cooling medium around the impeller eye.
Turbocharger
A turbocharger includes a turbine housing, a compressor housing, and a bearing housing. Each of the housings includes a passage for cooling inside. The turbocharger further includes a switching valve and a controller that switches a valve position of the switching valve. The switching valve is adapted to switch the circulation state of coolant in each passage such that the coolant is supplied from the passage of the turbine housing to the passage of the bearing housing or such that the coolant is supplied from another passage to the passage of the bearing housing. The controller switches the valve position of the switching valve such that the coolant is supplied from the passage of the turbine housing to the passage of the bearing housing until a predetermined amount of time passes after starting of the engine.
Turbomachine
A turbomachine having a cooling device for supplying cooling air onto a compressor region from an air distribution chamber is disclosed, the air distribution chamber being arranged between an outlet diffuser of a compressor and a combustion chamber, where the cooling device has cooling air pipes for supplying cooling air from the air distribution chamber into a cavity between the outlet diffuser and a rotor segment of the compressor.
Motor and bearing cooling paths and a transfer tube for another cooling channel
A compressor includes a rotor configured to compress air and driven by a shaft. A motor is drives the shaft. The first and second journal bearings facilitate rotation of the shaft. The first journal bearing is upstream from the motor and the second journal bearing is downstream from the motor. The transfer tube is configured to provide cooling air from a bearing cooling air inlet to the first journal bearing. A method for cooling a compressor is also disclosed.
Vacuum pump
A vacuum pump comprises a cylindrical rotor; a cylindrical stator which discharges gas in cooperation with the rotor; a base housing at least a part of the stator and having a through hole formed at a position facing an outer periphery of the stator; a heating member passing through the through hole from an atmosphere side to a vacuum side to have thermal contact with an outer peripheral surface of the stator to heat the stator; and an axial seal member which vacuum-seals a gap between the through hole and the heating member.
SECONDARY FLOW BAFFLE FOR TURBOMACHINERY
A stage of a fan for a gas turbine engine may include a rotor blade and a stator vane disposed aft of the rotor blade. A baffle may be coupled to the stator vane. The baffle may define a secondary airflow path from aft of the stator vane to forward of the rotor blade. The baffle may further define the secondary airflow path from aft of the stator vane to forward of the stator vane.
TURBOCHARGER
In a two-stage supercharging electric-assist turbocharger, a first compressor wheel, a rotor of an electric motor, a second compressor wheel, and a turbine wheel are coaxially coupled to a same, common shaft member, in that order. A compressor housing is structured to define therein a communicating passage to accommodate the electric motor in the communicating passage. A first water jacket is formed in at least one rib integrally formed with an outer periphery of a motor housing and also serving as a radiating fin, for forced-cooling air flowing through the communicating passage. A second water jacket is formed in a motor housing for forced-cooling a stator of the electric motor. A third water jacket is formed in an intermediate housing constructing a part of the compressor housing for forced-cooling a control unit configured to control the electric motor.
COOLING SYSTEM FOR A SENSOR CLEANING SYSTEM
A cooling system is for cooling a sensor cleaning system of a vehicle. the cooling system includes a collector configured to accommodate water, which reaches a windshield of the vehicle, a pump providing a flow force for moving the water accommodated in the collector along a conduit, and a cooling module to which water moving along the conduit flows and which surrounds a cooling target.
Axial flow fan with high temperature resistance for ship desulfurization system
An axial flow fan with high-temperature resistance for a ship desulfurization system includes a fan casing, axial flow fan blades, a high-temperature resistant bearing, and a cold water pipe. The axial flow fan blades are coaxially configured at an inner front end of the fan casing, and a rotating shaft is inserted in a middle of the axial flow fan blade. A middle part of the rotating shaft is sleeved with two high-temperature resistant bearings, and outsides of the two high-temperature resistant bearings are fixedly provided with a cruciform axis support. A rear end of the rotating shaft is sleeved with a worm gear, and an upper end of the worm gear is provided with a worm. The worm gear meshes with the worm. The worm gear and the worm are configured inside a lubricating oil casing, and the lubricating oil casing is covered with the insulating layer.
