Impeller shroud with deflecting outer member for clearance control in a centrifugal compressor
A system for controlling the clearance distance between an impeller blade tip of a centrifugal compressor and a radially inner surface of an impeller shroud in a turbine engine. The system comprises a two-piece integral impeller shroud with a fixed inner member and a variable outer member. An actuator is coupled to an aft end of the variable outer member and imparts axially forward and aft motion on the aft end, causing deflection of the outer member.
Impeller shroud with pneumatic piston for clearance control in a centrifugal compressor
A system for controlling the clearance distance between an impeller blade tip of a centrifugal compressor and a radially inner surface of an impeller shroud in a turbine engine. The system comprises a high pressure air source, an air piston mounted between an engine casing and the shroud and adapted to receive high pressure air from the high pressure air source, a mounting arm coupling the shroud and air piston, and a slidable coupling adapted to allow axial movement of the shroud and joining the shroud to an axial member.
Proximity sensor system for electric submersible pumps
An electric submersible pump (ESP) can include a shaft; an electric motor configured to rotatably drive the shaft; a housing; a stack of diffusers disposed in the housing; impellers disposed in the housing and operatively coupled to the shaft; and a proximity sensor operatively coupled to the housing.
IMPELLER SHROUD WITH CLOSED FORM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM FOR CLEARANCE CONTROL IN A CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR
A system for controlling the clearance distance between an impeller blade tip of a centrifugal compressor and a radially inner surface of an impeller shroud in a turbine engine. The system comprises a thermal driver coupled between the impeller shroud and engine casing by hinged linkages. The thermal driver is coupled to a closed form refrigeration system having an evaporator, a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, and a refrigerant contained therein. The thermal driver is cooled by the refrigeration system, and the rate of cooling causes expansion and contraction of the thermal driver that is translated by linkages into axially forward and aft motion of the shroud.
Electrical machine and methods of assembling the same
A fluid circulating assembly includes a fan impeller having an inlet ring and a rear plate that together define a central fan chamber. The fluid circulating assembly also includes an electrical machine having a rotor assembly, a stator assembly, and a housing. The rotor assembly is attached to the fan impeller rear plate such that the electrical machine is located entirely outside the central fan chamber. The housing includes an annular center section and at least two extension portions extending radially outward from the annular center section.
A HYDRAULICALLY POWERED ROTARY ACTUATOR
A hydraulically powered rotary actuator is described including: a hydraulic linear actuator which is moveable in both directions between a retracted position and an extended position; a clutch device which is operable between an engaged condition and a disengaged condition; and a rotary output member; wherein the linear actuator is coupled to the rotary output member by way of the clutch.
Compact turbomachine with magnetic bearings and auxiliary bearings
A turbo-machine for compressing or expanding a fluid comprises a housing, a rotary shaft, an electric machine, an impeller mounted at an end of the rotary shaft, radial magnetic bearings, an axial magnetic bearing, an axial detector, radial detectors, a control circuit, and auxiliary bearings. An auxiliary bearing is integrated within a stator portion of the axial magnetic bearing and this stator portion of the axial magnetic bearing is located opposite a rotor armature of the axial magnetic bearing. The rotor armature is made of iron or of a material which is adapted to be attracted in a magnetic field and is constituted by a rear face of the impeller.
CENTRIFUGAL PUMP
A centrifugal pump (1) includes a pump casing and a shaft (11) which is rotatably mounted therein and on which an impeller (10), for delivering fluid, is arranged rotationally fixed. A cartridge shaft seal (13) is arranged between the shaft (11) and an opening (16) of the casing, through which opening the shaft (11) is led. The cartridge shaft seal (13) includes a sleeve (22) which surrounds the shaft (11) at least in the region of the opening 16 and which is connected to the shaft (11) releasably and rotationally fixed, by way of a clamping device (29) which is arranged on the outer side of the sleeve (22). The clamping device (29) includes clamping jaws (32) which only engage on the outer side of the sleeve (22) and non-positively connect the sleeve (22) to the shaft (11).
Blower Housing with Two Position Cutoff
A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a blower assembly having a blower housing configured to operate with various sized impellers. The blower housing includes a cutoff that is selectively radially adjustable to locate a leading edge of the cutoff in a position relative to one of the various sized impellers to maintain a proper clearance between the leading edge of the cutoff and one of the various sized impellers in order to efficiently separate blower discharge airflow from incoming airflow collected in the blower housing and prevent recirculation of the blower discharge airflow through the blower housing.
WORK VEHICLE, AND POSITION ADJUSTMENT METHOD OF MOVABLE PORTION OF WORK VEHICLE
A work vehicle includes a blower unit rotatably supported to a vehicle body between a closed position and an open position, and a position adjustment portion configured to adjust a vertical position of the blower unit when the blower unit is at the closed position. The position adjustment portion includes a first plate that is provided on the vehicle body and includes a first through portion vertically penetrating, a second plate that is provided on the blower unit, vertically penetrates, and includes a second through portion communicating with the first through portion from below when the blower unit is at the closed position, and an adjustment bolt that includes a shaft portion inserted into the first through portion and the second through portion.
