FAN APPARATUS
20170298952 · 2017-10-19 ·

A fan apparatus (e.g., for a vehicle radiator) includes a hub and plural fan blades. The hub has an annular hub body with an outer peripheral wall, an interior, and a central axis. The hub body defines plural blade retention apertures spaced apart from one another around the hub body and extending radially outward from the interior through to the outer peripheral wall. The fan apparatus also includes plural fan blades respectively removably disposed in the plural blade retention apertures. The fan blades and the blade retention apertures are complimentary in shape for the fan blades to be retained by the hub solely by centrifugal force when the hub is rotated for operation of the fan apparatus.

Exhaust pump

An exhaust pump includes: a cylindrical rotating member; an outer cylindrical fixed member; an inner cylindrical fixed member a helical inner thread groove exhaust passage provided between the cylindrical rotating member and the inner cylindrical fixed member; connecting opening portions that are opened in the cylindrical rotating member and that lead a part of gas existing in the vicinity of the outer periphery of the cylindrical rotating member towards the inner thread groove exhaust passage. A gap between an upstream end of the connecting opening portions and lowermost stage rotor blades provided at the outer periphery of the cylindrical rotating member which is located upstream of the connecting opening portions has a dimension equal to or greater than a dimension that enables insertion, into the gap, of a tool for opening the connecting opening portions.

Inner housing assembly including retention slots

A ram air fan assembly includes a motor/bearing housing that extends along a horizontal length of the ram air fan assembly. An inner housing assembly is in fluid communication with the motor/bearing housing to define a joint. The inner housing assembly includes first and second ellipse-shaped slots. The first slot is positioned at a first angle with respect to a radial axis of the inner housing assembly that is perpendicular to the horizontal length, and the second slot is positioned at a second angle with respect to the radial axis, the second angle being different from the first angle, and each slot extending along a first direction parallel to the horizontal length to define an axial width and extending along a radial axis to define a radial width being greater than the axial width.

Blower assembly for use in an air handling system and method for assembling the same

A blower assembly includes a housing including an inner shell and an outer shell that define a flow passage therebetween. The inner shell also at least partially defines a cavity. The blower assembly also includes a fan coupled within the housing such that the fan also at least partially defines the cavity. The blower assembly further includes a motor configured to rotate about an axis. The motor is coupled to the inner shell and is positioned within the cavity radially inward of the flow passage.

Bundle guiding device of compressor and bundle guiding method of compressor

A bundle guiding device includes an inner roller mounted on a front portion of a bundle in an insertion direction where the bundle is to be inserted into a casing and configured to roll on an inner peripheral surface of the casing, an outer roller mounted on a rear portion of the bundle in the insertion direction where the bundle is to be inserted into the casing and configured to travel on a rail member, and a position adjusting mechanism configured to adjust a position of the bundle in a horizontal direction orthogonal to the insertion direction by applying an adjusting force to a receiving portion, one of the position adjusting mechanism and the receiving portion being on the bundle, and the other of the position adjusting mechanism and the receiving portion being on one of a base surface and the rail member.

Filter mounts for a portable fan and methods for mounting a filter to a portable fan

A filter frame is removably attachable to a box fan. The filter frame is adapted for receiving a standard HVAC-style filter for removing contaminants from air flow induced by the fan. In this manner, a cost-effective means for filtering a flow of air is provided for residential and commercial settings. The filter frame is adaptable to a variety of standard box fan types of different styles and dimensions. The frame is configured to accommodate standard filters, such as those readily available from retail hardware stores and home centers.

Stator element for a holweck pump stage, vacuum pump having a holweck pump stage and method of manufacturing a stator element for a holweck pump stage
09784284 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A stator element for a Holweck pump stage has a base shape of substantially cylinder jacket shape or a kit of parts for a stator element for a Holweck pump stage which has a base shape of a substantially cylinder jacket shape, wherein the stator element or the kit of parts comprises a plurality of stator parts which are separate from one another, which are assembled to form the stator element or can be assembled to form the stator element. A vacuum pump having a Holweck pump stage as well as to a method of manufacturing a stator element for a Holweck pump stage or of manufacturing a kit of parts for a stator element for a Holweck pump stage are also disclosed.

Variable vane actuating system

A variable vane assembly for a gas turbine engine having an actuating system including a rotatable face gear and a respective pinion engaged to and extending transversely from the end of each of the moveable vanes. The teeth of each pinion define land surfaces angled with respect to adjacent ones of the land surfaces of the teeth of the face gear meshed therewith. A smallest axial distance between the adjacent land surfaces of the meshed pinion and face gear teeth define a backlash of the actuating system. At least one shim has a thickness adjusting an axial distance between the pinion and the face gear to set the backlash to a predetermined value. An engine with a compressor with a variable vane assembly and a method of adjusting angular variance in an actuating system for variable vanes are also discussed.

OPTIMIZED METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CRIMPING ATTACHMENT OF AN ABRADABLE PIECE SUPPORT TO A RADIALLY INNER WALL OF A VANE SECTOR OF A TURBOMACHINE

A method for attaching an abradable piece support by crimping to the radially inner wall of a vane sector of a turbomachine, comprises deforming opposite rims of the radially inner wall on opposite free axial ends of the abradable piece support respectively, jointly, by means of two pressure blocks (40A, 40B) respectively, which are attached to each other and delimiting a space (42) between them intended to accommodate a median portion of the abradable piece support. A crimping attachment device (30) comprising such pressure blocks can in particular be operated by means of a conventional press, and can enable the method for attaching the abradable piece support to be automated.
