The acoustic liner includes: an acoustic space which is formed inside the acoustic liner; an introduction hole communicating the acoustic space with the exit flow path; and a vortex suppressor which is placed in a connection area between the introduction hole and the acoustic space and is configured to suppress vortexes which occur in the connection area.

Centrifugal compressor

An object is to position a plurality of guide vanes for generating swirl flow at a housing inner circumferential side in front of an impeller wheel to improve a surge margin and to restrict the decrease in a choke flow rate, thereby increasing an operation range of a compressor. A compressor 19 includes a compressor housing 15, an impeller wheel 7 which compresses intake gas flowing in from an intake-air inlet 23, a swirl-flow generating part including a plurality of guide vanes 55 disposed circumferentially along an inner circumferential wall of the intake-air channel 21 between the intake-air inlet 23 and the impeller wheel 7 and which swirls the intake gas from the intake-air inlet 23 around the rotational axis, and a central intake-air flow path 59 formed inside the guide vanes 55 to allow intake gas to flow to the impeller wheel 7 without passing through the guide vanes 55.

A compressor housing may include a shroud portion which is axially spaced from an inlet portion and configured to at least partially surround the compressor wheel. The compressor housing may be further configured to include a recirculation cavity which is formed between an exterior surface of the shroud portion and an interior surface of the compressor housing. Furthermore, a recirculation slot may define an airflow pathway between the recirculation cavity and the compressor wheel. Additionally, the compressor housing may include an angled shroud support extending radially through the recirculation cavity from the exterior surface of the shroud portion to the interior surface of the compressor housing. The angled shroud support may be spaced an axial distance away from the recirculation slot to reduce turbulence in the airflow as the airflow moves from the recirculation cavity to the compressor wheel.

Various embodiments of an airfoil and machines with airfoils are disclosed. The airfoils include a thicker leading airfoil portion and a thinner trailing airfoil portion. In one embodiment, the leading airfoil portion is formed by bending a body of the airfoil back toward itself. In another embodiment, the leading airfoil portion has a solid geometry and includes two elliptic surfaces. To prevent detachment of airflow, the leading airfoil portion includes at least two arc portions or surfaces that act to direct the airflow down to the trailing airfoil portion in a manner that stabilizes vortexes that may form in the region of changing thickness.
