Drip irrigation device for flower pot
A drip irrigation device for a flower pot is provided with a main member including a central aperture, porous top and bottom layers around the central aperture, an intermediate layer around the central aperture and sandwiched between the top and bottom layers, and a slit extending from the central aperture to an edge of the main member and cutting through the intermediate layer and the top and bottom layers; and a base including at least one curved member, a central hole, a plurality of first compartments in an outer portion of each curved member, a plurality of holes through a bottom of each first compartment, a second compartment in an inner portion of each curved member, a drip hole through a bottom of each second compartment, and a plurality of spaced legs extending downward from a bottom of the base.
Plant skirt and method for use thereof
A plant skirt provides a weed barrier system that is easy to construct and install, and virtually eliminates weed encroachment. The plant skirt comprises a barrier member having a substantially flat body constructed from landscaping material and having an outer rim edge. The body includes a weighted edge perimeter, wherein the perimeter is constructed having sand therein. At least one edge area of the body has a weighted edge perimeter including an elongated slit. The elongated slit extends to and terminates at a center aperture in the flat body. The elongated slit has overlapping capable sides, and the center aperture is a small opening appointed to surround a plant's stem so that the stem is flush against the center aperture and a weed cannot easily grow between the center aperture and the stem.
Plant watering system and method
A plant watering system includes an irrigation mat that can be placed around a plant on top of the soil. The irrigation mat includes a water reservoir that holds water, and a slow-pass water permeable membrane that releases the water in the water reservoir in a slow manner so the soil around the plant is watered at a controlled rate. The irrigation mat may optionally include a threaded port where a container of liquid fertilizer can be placed so the liquid fertilizer is mixed with the water in the reservoir, allowing easily fertilizing the plant as it is watered. The plant watering system may also optionally include a dryness sensor that provides an alert indicating the water reservoir in the irrigation mat needs to be refilled.
LANDSCAPING GROUND COVER
The ground cover includes a planar fabric body, a cover flap, and a pair of side rods. The cover body has a single slit that extends to its center to allow the ground cover to completely wrap around the base of the plant and lay flat over th ground. The cover flap is sewn or bonded to the cover body and folds to lay flat over the cover body in two positions, either folded to lie on one side of the slit or covering the slit. The side rods allow the ground cover to be easily lifted to deposit collected leaves and clippings into a collection container.
Living plant display and storage system, apparatus and method
A new or improved modular plant display and storage system that reduces the risks of plants tipping over and of spillage of plant and soil (or other growing medium) out the top of the pot, as well as the risk of water (and soil/growing medium) seepage and mess from the bottom of the pot. The invention can house potted plants without the need to re-pot or transplant the plants into growing medium that sits within the modular structure.
Plant Protector
A plant protector includes a body having neck portion, a midsection portion, and a gusset portion. The gusset portion includes a first channel with a first cord for cinching the gusset around an open top of a hydroponic container. The neck portion includes a second channel with a second cord for cinching the neck portion around a stalk of a plant growing in the hydroponic container. The midsection portion includes a mesh material that prevents insect infestation.
MODULAR PLANT PROTECTION
The present invention provides a modular apparatus for protecting a plant from invasive species and adapting a protective area as a plant grows with little to no post-planting maintenance. For example, a modular apparatus comprises a base comprising a first rim, a water storage, and a plug-in-joint, a lid comprising a second rim and an opening, wherein the first rim is configured to correspondingly fit the second rim, wherein the opening is configured to correspondingly fit the plug-in joint; and a recess disposed on an edge of the base and on an edge of the lid. An infinite number of modular apparatuses can be coupled to expand protection for plant growth. The modular plant protecting apparatus can be installed manually or deployed by an aerial vehicle into degraded areas with limited-access.
Tree needle catcher
A tree needle catcher is provided. The device includes a flexible member having a central aperture. In some embodiments, the flexible member includes a fine mesh material defining a plurality of openings therethrough. In other embodiments, the flexible member includes a solid material wherein a plurality of openings is disposed about an outer edge of the flexible member. A linear slit extends through the flexible member between the central aperture and an outer edge of the flexible member, wherein the linear slit defines a first edge of the flexible member and a second edge of the flexible member.
Top feeding wicking apparatus and system
A top feeding wicking apparatus and system for dispersing liquid through plant growing medium is disclosed. The apparatus includes a geometrically shaped container having a bottom, an inner wall, and an outer wall forming a channel therearound for receiving liquid therethrough. Container has a center opening for receiving a plant and container bottom is configured with at least one hole for receiving liquid therethrough. A geometrically shaped lid having a top, an inner wall, and an outer wall forming a channel therearound from an underside of lid is configured to be adjoined to container. A geometrically shaped base layer and wicking layer each having an inner wall and an outer wall and a center opening for receiving plant with a longitudinal opening extending therefrom to outer wall to allow placement of base and wicking layers on plant or to allow removal of base and wicking layers from plant. Container with lid is configured to set atop base layer and wicking layer such that liquid is dispersed through plant growing medium.
