Apparatus for growing plants
An apparatus for growing plants (100) is provided. The apparatus comprises at least one base member (110) having a periphery (112), at least one cover member, or wall member (120), having at least one channel (122a, 122b), and at least one intermediate filter (170) operable to be supported by the at least one cover member (120). The one or more cover members (120) are couplable to the periphery (112) of the at least one base member for providing a hollow space (140), and the at least one channel is operable to receive at least one tubular member (160, 162) supported at a distance from the at least one base member. The at least one intermediate filter is arranged for dividing the hollow space into at least two segments (172, 174). The apparatus is optionally operable to provide irrigation of one or more plants growing therein from seawater supplied to a bottom region of the apparatus.
MOBILE TRELLIS, COMPONENTS FOR USE WITH MOBILE TRELLISES, AND HORTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENTS INCORPORATING AT LEAST ONE MOBILE TRELLIS
A mobile trellis may be expandable and/or may include reusable components (i.e., components that are used with a second plant following use of the mobile trellis/component with a first plant). A mobile trellis may be incorporated into a horticultural environment. An expandable mobile trellis may include modular components. A mobile trellis may create a microclimate for an associated plant. A mobile trellis may anticipate changes in an associated horticultural environment based upon an event (e.g., a door opening, a component failure, etc.) and/or the mobile trellis may preemptively alter an “input” to, and/or an “output” from, a horticultural environment based on anticipating a change in the horticultural environment.
PLANT COVER WITH INSECT RESISTANT BAG FOR ENCLOSING A PLANT
A plant cover apparatus includes a bag having an interior encompassed by a wall that extends from a top end of the bag and tapers inwardly to a bottom end of the bag. The bottom end includes a rim that laterally circumscribes a plant-receiving opening formed through the bag. The bag has a slot that extends vertically from the opening through the wall. The slot includes opposed margins having cooperatively interlocking parts that can temporarily be joined and separated to increase the size of the opening. The bag may be vertically suspended from a support member positioned next to the plant. An exterior perimeter of the bag may be rigid enough to help the bag maintain its shape when suspended.
Plant cage
A plant cage includes an annular base configured to surround a portion of a plant. The base includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced stake openings formed therethrough. Each of the stake openings is inclined relative to a central axis of the base. The base is formed from a first segment releasably coupled to a second segment. The plant cage further includes a plurality of stakes. Each of the stakes is configured to extend through one of the stake openings formed in the base. A first portion of each of the stakes is received in the ground and a second portion of each of the stakes extends away from the ground into a substantially conical shape.
ENVIRONMENT CONTROLLED GREENHOUSE
Provided is an environment control house 1 which can have improved strength by employing a multifaceted structure. The environment controlled greenhouse 1 comprises: a main body portion 10 and a pair of wall portions 20, wherein the main body portion 10 comprises: a top surface portion 101 formed into a rectangular shape and disposed at the topmost portion; a pair of rectangular upper skirt surface portions 102 connectedly installed to respective edges in the transverse direction of the top surface portion 101; and a pair of rectangular lower skirt surface portions 103 connectedly installed to an edge in the installation direction of the respective upper skirt surface portions 102 and disposed in a sloped manner with respect to an installation surface L, and wherein each of the wall portions 20 comprises: a center wall surface portion 210 connectedly installed to the edge in the longitudinal direction of the top surface portion 101; a pair of middle wall surface portions 220 connectedly installed to respective edges in the transverse direction of the center wall surface portion 210 and to the edge in the longitudinal direction of the upper skirt surface portion 102; and a pair of side wall surface portions 230 connectedly installed to an edge in the transverse direction of the respective middle wall surface portions 220 and to an edge in the longitudinal direction of the respective lower skirt surface portions 103.
Vineyard fruit protection apparatus and process
A removable netting system includes a netting tunnel adapted to be placed surrounding the fruit along a row of multiple vines without touching the fruit, thus protecting vine fruit from destruction by birds. The netting tunnel includes a pair of nets joined along top and bottom edges and rings which maintain the netting tunnel along the row of multiple vines.
Device for growing plants above a selected surface
A device for growing plants above a selected surface includes a bottom member disposed upon a selected surface; a top member disposed upon and secured to said bottom member via two longitudinal securing seams, whereby, said top member includes two outer longitudinal flap portions and a longitudinal center portion, which ultimately receives a growing material in which plants and/or seeds are disposed. The longitudinal flap portions are ultimately folded above the growing material whereby longitudinal edge portions of the flap portions are separated a predetermined distance for allowing water and light to engage the growing material. Pipe members are removably secured to longitudinal edge portions of each longitudinal side of the bottom member, thereby enabling the manual lifting and transport of the device for disposal upon a selected surface.
