A mast is erected to support a load. At least one stay cable supports the mast. The stay cable is oriented to the mast within a radial distance of the blade from the mast. The stay cable is stressed to support the mast while the wind drives the blade without collision of the stay cable.
Gasket for wind turbine
The present invention relates to a gasket adapted for being placed between a transition piece and a monopile of a wind turbine. One embodiment relates to a gasket for formfitting the bottom part of a transition piece of a wind turbine, the gasket primarily manufactured in an elastomeric material and shaped as a hollow elongated body for surrounding at least a part of the monopile when mounted between the transition piece and the monopile, such that the gasket stabilizes the position of the transition piece relative to the monopile. The presently disclosed gasket can substitute the traditional grouting or bolting procedures when mounting a transition piece on a monopile.

A method for monitoring a wind turbine comprises monitoring an acoustic signal and/or a vibrational signal within a tower of the wind turbine, analyzing the signal to identify one or more predetermined characteristic indicative of an event within the tower, recognizing the event has occurred based on the predetermined characteristic and generating an output based on the recognized event. The one or more predetermined characteristic being at least one of: an amplitude of the signal, a duration of the signal, a shape of the signal, one or more frequencies present in the signal and an energy of the signal.
Integrated system and method for servicing a component of a wind turbine
An integrated repair system for servicing a component within the nacelle of the wind turbine uptower. The repair system includes at least one mounting location integrally formed into a bedplate support frame of the wind turbine and a frame assembly coupled to the bedplate support frame. The frame assembly supports at least one clamp element and at least one jack element. When the gearbox is moved in the nacelle during repair procedures, the repair system supports the main shaft uptower such that the rotor remains installed onto the rotor shaft.
Streamlined body and streamlined apparatus for suppressing vibrations of enclosure and method for hoisting tower
A streamlined body, apparatus for suppressing vibrations of an enclosure, and a method for hoisting a tower are provided. The streamlined body surrounds the enclosure, and the streamlined body has a streamlined leading edge. The leading edge can faces towards the upwind incoming flow, to allow the upwind incoming flow to form a positive attack angle or a negative attack angle. In this solution, the enclosure is surrounded by the streamlined body, and when the upwind incoming flow flows around the enclosure to come into contact with the streamlined body, the aerodynamic configuration is changed, and the aerodynamic coefficient becomes small, thus the vibrations are reduced. Moreover, the direction and path of the airflow are changed, which disrupts the correlation of the upwind incoming flow near the streamlined body, and disrupts the consistence of frequencies of vortex shedding of the airflow at the streamlined body and other positions.
Suspension arrangement for attaching components on a wall of a wind turbine tower
A suspension arrangement (7) for attachment to a support (2, 17) being made from a magnetisable material is disclosed. The suspension arrangement (7) comprises a magnetic attachment means (8) and a glue surface (9) having a glue depression (10). The magnetic attachment means (8) comprises a magnetic material allowing the suspension arrangement (7) to be releasably attached to the support (2, 17). The glue depression (10) is configured for receiving a glue portion (11) in order to permanently attach the suspension arrangement (7) to the support (2, 17). The glue surface (9) is arranged in contact with the support (2, 17) when the suspension arrangement (7) is attached to the support (2, 17).
