A Rotor for a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine
There is described a rotor for a vertical axis wind turbine comprising: first and second blades connected to one another and arranged to rotate around an axis; wherein the first and second blades are disposed 180 apart with respect to one another and are offset from the axis in a radial direction; wherein an inner edge of each blade is spaced radially inwardly from an outer edge of the opposing blade to form a pair of diametrically opposed openings which open in opposite directions; wherein each of the first and second blades comprises a first curved section and a second oppositely curved section, the first and second curved sections being separated by a point of inflection; and wherein the first and second curved sections of the first and second blades overlap one another to form a passageway between the first and second blades which extends between the openings.
Wind Turbine Rotor Blade Assembly for Reduced Noise
A rotor blade assembly of a wind turbine includes a rotor blade having an aerodynamic body with an inboard region and an outboard region. The inboard and outboard regions define a pressure side, a suction side, a leading edge, and a trailing edge. The inboard region includes a blade root, whereas the outboard region includes a blade tip. The rotor blade also defines a chord and a span. Further, the inboard region includes a transitional region of the rotor blade that includes a maximum chord. Moreover, a chord slope of the rotor blade in the transitional region ranges from about 0.10 to about 0.10 from the maximum chord over about 15% of the span of the rotor blade.
MODULAR ENVELOPE HYDRODYNAMIC ELECTRIFICATION SYSTEM
A hydrodynamic electrification system that generates electricity from water moving from a high side to a low side and around a structure that divides the low side from the high side generally includes a water transport system that directs the water from the high side presenting a hydraulic head, over the structure, and to the low side. The system includes a power extraction system having a wheel that receives the water from said water transport system and a mounting system having a high side anchor that connects near an intake to the water transport system at the high side and having a low side anchor that connects to the power extraction system at the low side.

TURBINE BLADE ASSEMBLY
A turbine system includes a shaft extending along an axis. A first spoke has a first end, attached to the shaft, and a second end. A second spoke has a first end, attached to the shaft, and a second end. A third spoke has a first end, attached to the shaft, and a second end. A turbine blade is attached to the second end of the first spoke, the second end of the second spoke, and the second end of the third spoke. The turbine blade extends continuously circumferentially about the axis. The turbine blade is spaced a distance apart from the axis and in non-contact with the shaft.

Exhaust diffuser for a gas turbine
An exhaust diffuser for a gas turbine includes an annular duct. A row of struts is arranged in the duct. In a region downstream of the trailing edges of the struts, the cross-sectional area of the duct decreases to a local minimum and then increases again towards the outlet end of the duct. Thereby the gas flow is locally accelerated downstream of the struts. This stabilizes the boundary layer of the flow in this region and leads to a marked increase in pressure recovery for a wide range of operating conditions.
