A river, tidal, wave or ocean current turbine, a wind turbine or a solar panel harnesses an optimum value of renewable energy from variable water flow or wind flow or from electromagnetic energy from sunlight harnessed by photovoltaic conversion to electricity. A harnessing module comprising a propeller facing, for example, water or wind flow and a generator driven by the propeller, thus may harness variable electric power from water (or wind) renewable energy and may be preferably connected to feedforward electricity source and preferably a feedback variable electrical load to an electrical voltage regulator apparatus of a land module and to a motor generator set or voltage converter by a flexible electrical cable for receiving a variable rotational speed converted to variable electrical frequency, the voltage regulator automatically providing a predetermined minimum electrical power/voltage output at constant frequency to the motor generator set or a voltage converter and output at constant frequency to a constantly varying grid load. The variable electrical input from harnessing modules is delivered to the voltage regulator and converted to a constant electrical frequency by the motor generator set. In alternative embodiments, the voltage regulator is replaced by a voltage regulator in series with a servo motor and a variable voltage transformer and, in a third embodiment, the voltage regulator is replaced by a power converter.
DOWN-WIND HORIZONTAL AXIS TURBINE APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING SAME
New down-wind horizontal axis turbine (DWHAT) systems or apparatus and methods for making and using same, wherein the DWHAT systems or apparatus include a base structure, a tower assembly or a derrick assembly anchored to the base structure, a drive assembly, a sail assembly, and a generator assembly, wherein the sails of the sail assembly are configured to catch wind downwind of the apparatuses or systems and wherein the drive assembly converts horizontal rotation of the horizontal shaft into vertical rotation of the vertical shaft that turns the generator generating electrical power that is transmitted to a power grid.
Multiple weight pendulum-based wave energy harvesting apparatus incorporating magnetic repulsion-based piezoelectric power generation mechanism
The invention provides a compound-pendulum up-conversion wave energy harvesting apparatus, comprising a shell floating on the water surface and swinging with fluctuation of waves, a compound-pendulum mechanism rotatably arranged in the shell and rotating with its swinging, a driving gear rotatably arranged in the shell and rotating synchronously with the compound-pendulum mechanism, an electromagnetic power generation mechanism arranged in the shell and configured to be meshed with the driving gear for transmission to generate electricity through electromagnetic induction, and a piezoelectric power generation mechanism arranged in the shell and configured to be deformed during its rotation to generate electricity through piezoelectric effect. When the shell swings un-directionally with fluctuation of the waves, the compound-pendulum mechanism makes un-directional rotation that adapts to the dynamic changes of water surface wave energy. The electromagnetic power generation mechanism and the piezoelectric power generation mechanism convert energy through two different electromechanical coupling transduction mechanisms.
Modular gearbox for wind turbine
A modular gearbox assembly for a wind turbine having improved up-tower serviceability includes a low-speed gear stage module, a separate, intermediate-speed gear stage module adjacent to the low-speed gear stage module, and a separate high-speed gear stage module adjacent to the intermediate-speed gear stage module. The gearbox assembly also includes a first flange removably connecting the intermediate and high-speed gear stage modules and a second flange removably connecting the intermediate and low-speed gear stage modules. Thus, the low-speed gear stage module converts a low-speed, high torque input from a rotor shaft of the wind turbine to a high-speed, low torque output for a generator of the wind turbine via the intermediate and high-speed gear stage modules. In addition, the first and second flanges allow for easy disassembly of the gear stage modules such that the various stages can be easily repaired, replaced, and/or inspected.
Sea wave generating device
A sea wave generating device includes a floating base, a generating assembly, a driving assembly, and a guiding housing. The floating base includes a base body and a cover plate. The generating assembly is secured in the base body and includes a lower magnetic wheel and a power generator. The driving assembly includes an upper magnetic wheel and a blade wheel. The upper magnetic wheel and the lower magnetic wheel are attracted magnetically. The guiding housing is secured to the base body and rests on the cover plate. The guiding housing covers the blade wheel and the upper magnetic wheel. Thus, when the sea wave is introduced into the guiding housing, the seawater pushes the blade wheel which drives the upper magnetic wheel which drives the lower magnetic wheel which drives the power generator to generate an electric power.
BEARING LUBRICATION STRUCTURE FOR A WIND POWER GEARBOX
A bearing lubrication structure for a wind power gearbox includes a housing, a bearing, a planet carrier, and an oil scraper assembly. The planet carrier is rotatably disposed on the housing through the bearing. A first end face of the planet carrier and a second end face of the housing form a receiving chamber. The oil scraper assembly is disposed on the second end face and is located in the receiving chamber. The oil scraper assembly includes an oil scraper member. The oil scraper member is configured to, when the planet carrier rotates, collect oil from the first end face and make the oil flow into the bearing.
