Apparatus And Method For Extracting Energy From A Fluid
An apparatus and method is disclosed for extracting energy from an oscillating working fluid, such as ocean waves. The apparatus (10) comprises an internal flow passage (40) for the working fluid, a turbine (44) and a flow control device (38), each of the turbine (44) and the flow control device (38) being in direct fluid communication with the flow passage (40), wherein in use the flow control device (38) is selectively moveable between a first configuration in which the flow control device (38) is open to allow a flow of the working fluid, such as air, to exit the flow passage (40) therethrough, and a second configuration in which the flow control device (38) restricts a flow of the working fluid therethrough. In such an instance, the working fluid then must enter the flow passage (40) via the turbine (44), which can be harnessed to generate electricity.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE CAPTURE OF WAVE POWER
This invention discloses a method and a device for the capture of wave power, exploiting the maximum potential energy of each wave, based on obtaining the maximum imbalance possible between the Thrust Force and the Weight acting upon the capture elements on the passage of each wave, slowing and releasing them both at their high points and at their low points by means of the use of blocking systems, maximizing the submerged and emerged volumes of the next movement, likewise the travel during which the capture elements are accelerated due to the exploitation of their kinetic energy and their release in the transmission of efforts at the moments when the points of equilibrium between the rising and falling maximums are reached, thus generating an increase in the potential energy captured.
Systems and methods for energy harvest
Systems and methods for use in capturing energy from natural resources. In one form, the systems and methods capture energy from natural resources, such as movement of fluid in a body of water, and convert it into electrical energy.
Wave-activated power generation device and wave-activated power generation method
A wave-activated power generation device is disclosed. The device includes a float configured to be capable of floating in the sea; a rotor configured to generate a rotational inertial mass effect; a power generator configured to generate power based on rotation of the rotor; a first elastic body; and a drive part configured to connect the rotor with the float via the first elastic body so as to rotate the rotor along with movement of the float.
ACTIVE RESONANCE C-TYPE BUOYANT FLAP WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER
An active resonance C-type buoyant flap wave energy converter includes a rigid frame, a flap, a mass center adjustment assembly and a power generation assembly. The rigid frame is connected to a marine facility, and includes a main body and a support shaft provided at a bottom thereof. The flap is swingingly arranged on the support shaft. The flap is located under water surface, and swings back and forth around the support shaft under an action of a wave. The mass center adjustment assembly is configured to adjust a mass center of the flap to make a natural period of the flap same as a wave period, so as to achieve a resonance between the flap and the wave. The power generation assembly is arranged on the support shaft and is located in the flap.
WAVE-POWERED GENERATOR
A machine and process to compress ambient air using natural swell of ocean waves to store energy. The devise is a bi-directional air pump operated by ocean wave power of water buoyancy as well as earth gravity in a pressure vessel using a piston. The machine uses a large surface area as float connected by a rod to a small area as piston, housed in a pressure vessel to multiply compression of air. The compression of air is directly proportional to the respective surface areas of float to the piston attached with a rod inside the pressure vessel. An array of similar machines can be employed to multiply potential energy output.
WAVE POWER UTILIZATION DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
By receiving a leading wave in a state where a wave receiving box is sunk on the coast, a pressure return pipe and a pressure return on-off valve are controlled, and a water surface in an air compression pipe is set to a reference water surface lower than an air throttle, even when there are tide level fluctuations and wave size variations in one wave receiving box, energy of the wave is converted into compressed air without loss, is stored in a compressed air storage tank, and can be used for power generation or the like.
An Improved Apparatus And Method For Extracting Energy From A Fluid
Apparatus for extracting energy from an oscillating working fluid, the apparatus comprising a flow passage 40 for the oscillating working fluid, an energy conversion unit 44 and a flow control device 38, each of the energy conversion unit 44 and the flow control device 38 being, at least in part, in fluid communication with the flow passage 40, wherein in use the flow control device 38 is selectively operable between a first configuration in which the flow control device 38 is open to allow a flow of the oscillating working fluid to exit the flow passage therethrough, and a second configuration in which the flow control device 38 is arranged to restrict a flow of the working fluid therethrough, such that the oscillating working fluid enters the flow passage via the energy conversion unit 44.
