A variable area nozzle assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a fixed structure surrounding an exhaust duct extending along a nozzle centerline. The fixed structure further includes a first lateral side and a second lateral side opposite the first lateral side. The variable area nozzle assembly further includes a nozzle. The nozzle includes a nozzle outlet including a nozzle outlet cross-sectional area. The variable area nozzle assembly further includes a thrust reverser system including a first thrust reverser door and a second thrust reverser door. The first thrust reverser door is pivotably mounted to the fixed structure at the first lateral side. The second thrust reverser door is pivotably mounted to the fixed structure at the second lateral side. The first thrust reverser door and the second thrust reverser door define a portion of the nozzle outlet of the nozzle.

A turbine is provided with: a turbine wheel configured to rotate about an axis O1; a turbine housing accommodating the turbine wheel and defining an annular nozzle passage on the outer peripheral side of the turbine wheel; and a plurality of low solidity nozzle vanes 6 arranged in the nozzle passage at an interval in the circumferential direction. Circumferentially adjacent low solidity nozzle vanes 6 are disposed at different radial positions in a connection position of each of the low solidity nozzle vanes 6 with a hub-side wall surface of the hub-side wall surface and a shroud-side wall surface which define the nozzle passage.

A turbine nozzle assembly for use in a turbine engine is provided. The assembly includes an inner barrel and a turbine nozzle support ring. The inner barrel has a forward end and an aft end. The turbine nozzle support ring includes an annular body that defines a forward end, an opposite aft end, an inner surface, and an opposite outer portion. The forward end of the annular body is coupled to the aft end of the inner barrel. The annular body includes a first arcuate segment and a second arcuate segment removably coupled to the first arcuate segment. The first arcuate segment has a first arcuate length and the second arcuate segment has a second arcuate length. The second arcuate length is shorter than the first arcuate length.

RECOVERED-CYCLE AIRCRAFT TURBOMACHINE

An aircraft turbomachine having a centrifugal compressor, an annular combustion chamber, an annular casing extending around the chamber and delimiting an annular space (E) in which the chamber is situated, and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger can include a first circuit supplied with exhaust gas from the turbomachine, and a second circuit connected by first and second volutes respectively to an outlet of the compressor and to the annular space. The first and second volutes can be positioned at an axial distance from one another, and the second volute is can be connected to the annular space by a straightener which is situated at least in part outside the casing and which is integrated into an annular connecting pipe which connects the second volute to this casing.

The turbine nozzle assembly may include a turbine nozzle extending from an inner diameter to an outer diameter and having an airfoil-shaped cross section having a leading edge and a trailing edge, and a pressure side and a suction side each of which extends from the leading edge to the trailing edge, wherein the turbine nozzle may include a hollow airfoil including a plurality of cavities positioned in the airfoil, an insert positioned in one or more of the plurality of cavities of the hollow airfoil, a plurality of cover plates, at least one of which is positioned at one of the inner diameter and at the outer diameter, and a plurality of impingement pans, at least one of which is positioned at one of the inner diameter and at the outer diameter.

A jet engine for propelling aircraft, capable of providing thrust from rest to high speeds is provided. The engine has an axial compressor (16) or several axial compressors located on the same plane and is driven by a gas generator. At the outlet of the turbine there is a gasification chamber (23) into which more fuel is injected. Combustion of the gases from the gasification chamber is performed in two combustion chambers (18) with a rectangular cross-section, separated by a central body (10). The exhaust of the gases is performed in nozzles, each with a square convergent/divergent cross-section (19) and (21). The cross-section of the throats (26) can be adjusted by means of two mobile elements (20). The final section of the central body (10) forms a wedge-shape (27), enabling the continued expansion of the exhaust gases.

A variable capacity turbocharger includes: a nozzle flow path which allows a gas to pass from a scroll flow path toward a turbine impeller; a shroud side ring and a hub side ring which face each other in a rotation axis direction of the turbine impeller and form a nozzle flow path therebetween; a bearing hole which is provided in the shroud side ring; a bearing hole which is provided in the hub side ring; and a nozzle vane which is disposed in the nozzle flow path and is supported by both bearing holes, wherein a center axis line of the bearing hole is located on the inside in a radial direction in relation to a center axis line of the bearing hole at a room temperature and the center axis line is located on the outside in the radial direction in relation to the center axis line when a predetermined temperature difference is generated between the shroud side ring and the hub side ring during operation.

Vanes and shrouds for a turbo-machine

A turbine for a turbo-machine is proposed in which, at a gas inlet for a turbine wheel, vanes extend from a nozzle ring though slots in a shroud. The nozzle ring and shroud are relatively rotatable about a rotational axis of the turbine by at least 0.1 degrees. In use, the nozzle ring and shroud are relatively rotated to bring one side of the vane into close contact with one surface of the slot, to inhibit leakage of gas between the vane and the slot surface. For this purpose the respective surfaces of the nozzle and slot can be configured to closely conform to each other. If there is differential thermal expansion of the shroud and nozzle ring, the nozzle ring and shroud can relatively rotate, to withdraw the vane from the edge of the slot to relieve the pressure between them.
