Composite airfoil assembly with separate airfoil, inner band, and outer band
Airfoil assemblies for gas turbine engines are provided. For example, an airfoil assembly comprises an airfoil, an inner band defining an inner opening shaped complementary to an inner end of the airfoil, and an outer band defining an outer opening shaped complementary to an outer end of the airfoil. The airfoil inner end is received with the inner opening, and the airfoil outer end is received within the outer opening. A strut extends radially through an airfoil cavity. A first pad is defined at a first radial location within the cavity. A second pad is defined within the cavity at a second, different radial location. In some embodiments, the airfoil assembly inner band includes a first inner flange, through which the inner band is secured to a support structure, and the outer band includes a first outer flange, through which the outer band is secured to a support structure.
TURBINE ENGINE WITH REDUCED CROSS FLOW AIRFOILS
An airfoil assembly for a turbine engine comprising an outer band, an inner band radially spaced inwardly from the outer band to define an annular region, and multiple airfoils circumferentially spaced within the annular region. Each corresponding airfoil of the multiple airfoils can project from a surface at a root and can further include an outer wall defining a pressure side and a suction side. A projection can extend upwardly from the surface on the pressure side and a valley can extend into the surface on the suction side to define a contour in the surface.
Airfoil shape and platform contour for turbine rotor blades
A turbine rotor blade including an airfoil that extends from a platform. The platform may include a first portion of a nominal platform contour substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X′, Y′, and Z′ as set forth in Table II. The Cartesian coordinate values of X′, Y′, and Z′ are non-dimensional values from 0% to 100% convertible to dimensional distances by multiplying the Cartesian coordinate values of X′, Y′, and Z′ by a height of the airfoil defined along a Z′ axis. The X′ and Y′ values of the first portion are coordinate values that, when connected by smooth continuing arcs, define contour lines of the first portion of the nominal airfoil profile at each Z′ coordinate value. The contour lines may be joined smoothly with one another to form the first portion.
Impeller with reinforced blades
An impeller includes a hub, a plurality of blades coupled with the hub, and a plurality of ribs connected to the plurality of blades. Each of the plurality of ribs has a connecting end coupled with the hub. Each of the plurality of blades intersects with at least one of the plurality of ribs.
Fan blade anti-icing concept
A fan blade anti-icing system comprises a fan hub and a fan blade extending radially outwardly from the fan hub. The fan blade has a base and an airfoil extending radially outwardly from the fan base. The airfoil having a leading edge, a trailing edge, a convex side surface between the leading and trailing edge and a concave side surface between the leading and trailing edge. The fan blade further has a radial passage extending from a blade air inlet in the blade base in communication with a source of heated air, and a rearwardly directed passage in communication with the radial passage and having a blade air outlet forward of the trailing edge and oriented tangentially to the convex side surface or concave side surface of the airfoil.
Impeller and centrifugal compressor
The impeller includes a disc having a main surface extending outward in a radial direction toward one side in an axial direction, a plurality of blades defining a flow path extending to an outlet on one side from an inlet on the other side in the axial direction, and a cover disposed to cover the plurality of blades. At least one of an inlet side region and an outlet side region which are a connection portion between the blade and the main surface and a connection portion between the blade and the cover has a small fillet portion curved in an arc shape and having a small radius of curvature. An intermediate region formed between the inlet side region and the outlet side region has a large fillet portion having a large radius of curvature.
Compressor rotor blade airfoils
A rotor blade includes an airfoil having an airfoil shape. The airfoil shape has a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth in one of Table I, Table II, Table III, Table IV, Table V, Table VI, Table VII, Table VIII, Table IX, Table X, Table XI, or Table XII. The Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z are non-dimensional values from 0% to 100% convertible to dimensional distances expressed in a unit of distance by multiplying the Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z by a scaling factor of the airfoil in the unit of distance. The X and Y values, when connected by smooth continuing arcs, define airfoil profile sections at each Z value. The airfoil profile sections at Z values are joined smoothly with one another to form a complete airfoil shape.
Turbine blade for a gas turbine engine
A turbine blade for a gas turbine engine has: an airfoil extending along a span from a base to a tip and along a chord from a leading edge to a trailing edge, the airfoil having a pressure side and a suction side, a tip pocket at the tip of the airfoil, the tip pocket at least partially surrounded by a peripheral tip wall defining a portion of the pressure and suction sides; at least one internal cooling passage in the airfoil and having at least one outlet communicating with the tip pocket; and a reinforcing bump located on the pressure side of the airfoil and protruding from a baseline surface of the peripheral tip wall to a bump end located into the tip pocket, the reinforcing bump overlapping a location where a curvature of a concave portion of the pressure side of the airfoil is maximal.

A fan includes a hub, a plurality of fan blades arranged around the hub and connected to the hub, and a plurality of guiding parts. Each of the plurality of fan blades comprises a windward surface and a leeward surface facing away from the windward surface. Each of the plurality of guiding parts is arranged on each of the plurality of fan blades. Each of the plurality of guiding parts comprises a plurality of guiding portions. Each of the plurality of the guiding portions protrudes from or is recessed in the windward surface or the leeward surface.

A rotor blade includes an airfoil having an airfoil shape. The airfoil shape has a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth in Table I.
