An abradable insert for a gas turbine engine, the abradable insert including: a base layer; a lattice layer connected to the base layer, wherein the lattice layer comprises a series of walls that define a plurality of cells; and a sheet layer connected to the lattice layer on an opposite side on the lattice layer from the base layer, wherein the sheet layer is curved and includes a direction of concavity that points away from the base layer, wherein the lattice layer and the sheet layer are integrally formed together and are a monolithic piece of material.

LABYRINTH SEAL COMPRISING AN ABRADABLE ELEMENT WITH VARIABLE CELL DENSITY
The present invention relates to a labyrinth seal for a turbine engine, in particular of an aircraft, comprising a rotor element and a stator element extending around the rotor element, the rotor element being suitable for rotating relative to the stator element about an axis of rotation having an axial direction (DA), the rotor element comprising an annular lip having an outer radial end extending towards an abradable element (57) carried by the stator element, the outer radial end of the annular lip having a corrugation in the axial direction (DA) and a non-zero axial expanse (E.sub.5) associated with the corrugation, the abradable element (57) comprising a plurality of cells (50a, 50b) arranged adjacent to one another along the axial direction (DA) and an ortho-radial direction (O), the cells (50a, 50b) comprising walls which extend in an essentially radial direction, the cells being distributed with a first cell density in a first densified annular zone (Z.sub.51) of the abradable element, said densified annular zone (Z.sub.51) being located opposite the radial end of the lip, said densified annular zone having an axial expanse less than or equal to the axial expanse of the outer radial end of the lip, the cells being distributed according to a reference density of cells outside said first zone, the first density being greater than the reference density.
Bore compartment seals for gas turbine engines
Rotor systems including an engine shaft, a forward hub, a rear hub, a rotor disk arranged between the forward hub and the rear hub, and a seal tube configured to define a forward hub compartment and a rear hub compartment. The forward hub compartment is defined forward of the rotor disk and the rear hub compartment is defined aft of the rotor disk. The seal tube is connected at a forward end to at least one of the rotor disk and the engine shaft and at a rear end to at least one of the rear hub and the engine shaft and the seal tube includes at least one axial compliance element configured to enable axial extension and compression of the seal tube in an axial direction along the engine shaft.

A turbofan gas turbine engine comprises, in axial flow sequence, a heat exchanger module, a fan assembly, a compressor module, and a turbine module. The fan assembly comprises a plurality of fan blades defining a fan diameter (D). The heat exchanger module comprises a plurality of heat transfer elements. The heat exchanger module is in fluid communication with the fan assembly by an inlet duct. The inlet duct has a fluid path length along a central axis of the inlet duct between a downstream-most face of the heat transfer elements and an upstream-most face of the fan assembly. The fluid path length is less than 10.0*D.
INSERTS FOR AIRFOILS OF GAS TURBINE ENGINES
Baffle inserts for airfoils of gas turbine engines are described. The baffle inserts include a baffle insert body having a first side portion and a second side portion, wherein each side portion has a respective end, a first set of vortex generation elements is arranged at the end of the first side portion, and a second set of vortex generation elements is arranged at the end of the second side portion. The first set of vortex generation elements and the second set of vortex generation elements are arranged at an aft end of the baffle insert body.

A casing of the present disclosure includes a casing main body and a connecting flange. The casing main body covers an outer circumferential side of a rotor that rotates about an axis. The connecting flange extends from an outer circumferential portion of the casing main body toward die outer circumferential side, is provided along a circumferential direction around the axis and is connected to a member other than the connecting flange in an axial direction that is an extension direction of the axis. The connecting flange is cut out in an upper end portion or a horizontal end portion of the connecting flange.
