AIRFOIL ASSEMBLY WITH LEADING EDGE ELEMENT
An airfoil assembly including a composite body having a mounting edge and a trailing edge which is secured to a leading edge element defining a 3-D leading edge geometry with both chord and camber variation.
ENGINE AIRFOIL METAL EDGE
An airfoil for a gas turbine engine defining a spanwise direction, a root end, a tip end, a leading edge end, and trailing edge end is provided. The airfoil includes: a body extending along the spanwise direction between the root end and the tip end, the body formed of a composite material; and a sculpted leading edge member attached to the body positioned at the leading edge end of the airfoil, the sculped leading edge member formed at least in part of a metal material and defining a non-linear patterned leading edge of the airfoil.
Profiled Element for Generating a Force
A profiled element used is disclosed for generating a force, the profiled element comprising a material having an active surface; a plurality of cavities located on the active surface of the material, the plurality of cavities comprising pin holes, each pin hole having an opening of a micrometric size on the active surface and a depth of a micrometric size greater than its diameter; wherein each pin hole is hermetically sealed on the opposite side of the cavity; and further wherein an airflow circulation against the active surface of the material causes a pressure change on the active surface and inside each of the plurality of cavities thereby generating a force.
RING SEGMENT AND TURBOMACHINE INCLUDING SAME
A ring segment and a turbomachine including the ring segment are provided. The ring segment installed on an inner circumferential surface of a casing and disposed to face an end of a blade disposed inside the casing, the ring segment includes a segment body disposed inside the casing in a radial direction of the casing and including a plurality of cooling channels through which cooling air flows, a pair of segment protrusions protruding outward from the segment body, coupled to the inner circumferential surface of the casing, and spaced apart from each other in a flow direction of fluid flowing through the casing to form an RS cavity into which cooling air is introduced, wherein when the segment body has a cross section along an imaginary plane including a radial straight line of the casing, the cooling channel is formed such that a width in a direction perpendicular to a radial direction of the casing is greater than a width in the radial direction of the casing.
Acoustic treatment panel for a turbojet engine
An acoustic treatment panel intended to be disposed on at least one wall of a turbojet engine in contact with a fluid flow, the panel including a first acoustically reflective plate, a second plate and a plurality of cavities mounted between the first plate and the second plate and including a plurality of cells. The second plate is a one-piece plate through which a plurality of channels pass, each opening out on the one hand onto a first orifice formed on a first face of the second plate and on the other hand onto a second orifice formed on a second face of the second plate, the length of each channel extending between its first orifice and its second orifice being greater than the thickness of the second plate.
DAMPER RING
A damper ring is mounted in frictional engagement with a radially inwardly facing surface of a circumferential groove defined in a rotary part of a gas turbine engine. Energy dissipation is provided via sliding friction of the ring in the groove. The damper ring has a circumferentially segmented ring body having a non-uniform circumferential stiffness around its circumference including a locally reduced stiffness in a circumferential direction between each pair of circumferentially adjacent ring segments.
Annular cartridge seal
A seal for a gas turbine engine may include a first cartridge, a second cartridge, and a wave spring. The wave spring may be located between the first cartridge and the second cartridge. The first cartridge may contact a first component to form a seal. The second cartridge may contact a second component to form a seal. The first cartridge may contact the second cartridge to form a seal. The wave spring may force the first cartridge to contact the first component, and the wave spring may force the second cartridge to contact the second component.
FLUSH FLUID INLET DESIGNS FOR AERO-ACOUSTIC TONE MITIGATION OF AIRCRAFT
Presented are flush-mounted fluid inlets, methods for making/using such fluid inlets, and aircraft equipped with flush-mounted air inlets for engine intake/cooling, bleed air flow, etc. A fluid inlet device is presented for improving vehicle aerodynamic performance. The fluid inlet device includes an inlet base that rigidly mounts to the vehicle, laying substantially flush with a washed outer surface across which fluid flows. The inlet base has a mouth that fluidly couples with a vehicle duct. Two sidewalls are attached to the inlet base, extending between leading and trailing edges of the inlet mouth. An inlet ramp, which is interposed between and attached to the sidewalls, projects inward at an oblique angle from the mouth's leading edge. A highlight is attached to the inlet base, projecting forward from the trailing edge towards the leading edge of the mouth. The highlight has a waveform plan-view profile and undulating outer surface.
PROFILED STRUCTURE FOR AN AIRCRAFT OR TURBOMACHINE
The invention relates to a profiled structure, elongated in a direction in which the structure has a length exposed to an airflow, and transversely to which the structure has a leading edge (164) and/or a trailing edge, at least one of which is profiled and has, in said direction of elongation, serrations (28a) defined by successive teeth (30) and depressions (32).
Along the profiled leading edge and/or profiled trailing edge, the successive teeth (30) and depressions (32) extend only over a part of said length exposed to the flow over which the amplitude and/or spacing of the teeth varies monotonically except for the few teeth nearest each end of said part, a remaining part (280) of said length being smooth.
Fan wheel, fan, and system having at least one fan
A fan wheel for a fan is equipped with at least two fan blades with a wavy design. A fan has at least one such fan wheel. A system has at least one fan with such a fan wheel.
