BOLT ASSEMBLY
Aspects of the disclosure regard a bolt assembly which comprises a bolt extending in a longitudinal direction through a flange connection, the bolt comprising a first portion and a second portion, the first portion comprising a threaded section at a first side of the flange connection and the second portion comprising a head portion at a second side of the flange connection. The bolt assembly further comprises a nut screwed on the threaded section and a spacer arranged between the nut and the flange connection or between the head portion and the flange connection. The bolt is comprised of a titanium alloy.
IMPINGEMENT INSERT FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
The present disclosure is directed to an impingement insert for a gas turbine engine. The impingement insert includes an insert wall having an inner surface and an outer surface spaced apart from the inner surface. A nozzle extends outwardly from the outer surface of the insert wall. The nozzle includes an outer surface and a circumferential surface. The insert wall and the nozzle collectively define a cooling passage extending from the inner surface of the insert wall to the outer surface of the nozzle. The cooling passage includes an inlet portion, a throat portion, a converging portion extending from the inlet portion to the throat portion, an outlet portion, and a diverging portion extending from the throat portion to the outlet portion. The cooling passage further includes a cross-sectional shape having a semicircular portion and a non-circular portion.
METHOD FOR REPAIRING A FAN CASING
A method for repairing a fan casing in which the inner surface is damaged, includes attaching a reinforcement element to the fan casing, the reinforcement element being attached to the outer surface of the fan casing opposite the damage.
Stator apparatus for a gas turbine engine
A turbomachinery stator apparatus includes: a compressor casing including a casing wall defining an arcuate flowpath surface and an opposed backside surface, the flowpath surface defining at least two spaced-apart rotor lands; and a stator vane row of stator vanes disposed inside the compressor casing; wherein the casing wall includes at least one hollow structure; and wherein the casing wall is a single monolithic whole, wherein the stator vanes are integrally formed as part of the monolithic whole.
COOLED HOT SECTION COMPONENTS FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A gas turbine engine includes a turbine section including a plurality of blade outer air seals disposed therein, the blade outer air seals each including a body including a raised material that extends beyond the outer surface of the body and the raised material includes an inlet hole formed through the raised material.
LUBRICATION SYSTEM FOR AN ATTRITABLE ENGINE
A gas turbine engine with a lubrication system includes a ball bearing assembly and a rotor circumscribing a rotational axis and journaled within the ball bearing assembly. The gas turbine engine also includes a lubrication system located radially outward from a rotational axis and radially outward and adjacent to the ball bearing assembly, which includes a lubrication channel having an inlet and an outlet and a dispersion cone adjacent to the outlet of the lubrication channel.
TURBOMACHINE BLADE ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a turbomachine blade or vane arrangement having a first turbomachine blade or vane (10), a second turbomachine blade or vane (20) adjacent to it, and at least one tuning element guide housing (30) with at least one cavity, in which at least one tuning element (5) is arranged with play of movement for impact contact with the tuning element guide housing, with the tuning element guide housing being arranged at least in part in a recess (11), in particular in a frame (12), of the first turbomachine blade or vane (10), where the second turbomachine blade or vane (20) has at least one first rib (21) for securing the tuning element guide housing (30) arranged in the recess (11).
PUMP COMPRISING AN IMPELLER BODY PROVIDED AS AN OBLIQUE CONE
A pump comprising an impeller having a hub base and an impeller body. The impeller body comprises a base which is concentric relative to a rotational axis of the impeller, and at least one eccentric apex.
AIRFOIL FOR A TURBINE ENGINE
A method and apparatus for minimizing engine weight for a turbine engine by utilizing one or more discrete protuberances disposed on an engine component wall. The wall can have a nominal thickness to decrease engine weight while the protuberances can provide increased discrete thicknesses for providing one or more cooling holes. The increased thickness at the protuberances provides for an increased thickness to provide sufficient length to increase cooling hole effectiveness.
ANTI-BIRD STRIKE PROTECTION NET FOR AIRCRAFT JET ENGINE
An anti-bird strike protection net for aircraft jet engine, comprising fixed circular truncated cone, conical protection net body, connection section, and double helix electrical heating wire, wherein the fixed circular truncated cone is secured on the cowl inlet's outside of the aircraft jet engine via which the conical protection net body is connected to the jet engine with the connection section: hinge, catches, and gas springs; The conical protection net body comprises the base of the conical protection net body, the conical support frame, the net which covers the outside of the conical support frame; the double helix electrical heating wire spirally surrounding the surface of the net is used as deicing device.
This invention is an aftermarket add-on device and can be an original integration part as jet engine manufacturing. It's simple and easy to be secured on the cowl inlet without changing the structure of the aircraft jet engine.
