Systems and methods for modifying a pressure side on an airfoil about a trailing edge
An airfoil is disclosed herein. The airfoil may include a leading edge, a trailing edge, a suction side defined between the leading edge and the trailing edge, and a pressure side defined between the leading edge and the trailing edge opposite the suction side. The pressure side may include a concave profile about the trailing edge that varies from a profile of a remainder of the pressure side.
IMPINGEMENT PLATE WITH STRESS RELIEF FEATURE
An impingement plate adapted for use in a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The plate includes a plurality of holes for directing cooling air. The plate includes a stress relief feature to prevent fatigue cracking at the coupling of the plate to the turbine engine and at the holes.
TURBINE ROTOR BLADE
A turbine rotor blade for a thermal continuous flow machine, wherein a transition region and an aerodynamically shaped turbine blade connected to same, follows a blade foot for securing the turbine rotor blade to a rotor along a notional blade longitudinal axis of the turbine rotor blade from bottom to top. The blade foot has two flat end surfaces facing one another, two contoured side surfaces facing one another and joining the two end surfaces to one another, in which side surface at least one respective carrying edge is formed by creating dovetail- or fir tree-like end surface contour. The carrying edges become free edges or extend into the transition region via concave rounded portions. A channel bordering one of the two end sides is arranged in at least one concave rounded portion, the extension of which channel along the side surface is less than that of the carrying edge.
Turbine rotor blade with integral impingement sleeve by additive manufacture
A turbine rotor blade is additively manufactured and includes an airfoil body with a radially extending chamber for receiving a coolant flow, a tip end at a radial outer end of the airfoil body, and a shank at a radial inner end of the airfoil body. The radially extending chamber extends at least partially into the shank to define a shank inner surface. An integral impingement cooling structure is within the radially extending chamber. The integral impingement cooling structure allows an exterior surface of a hollow body thereof to be uniformly spaced from the airfoil inner surface despite the curvature of the chamber. The turbine rotor blade has impingement cooling throughout the blade.
Turbine center frame and method
Aspects of the disclosure generally relate to a turbine center frame for a turbine engine through which a flow path extends. The turbine center frame can include an inner wall radially spaced from an outer wall, with the inner and outer walls extending between an inlet and an outlet, and with the outlet downstream of the inlet with respect to the flow path. A set of circumferentially-spaced airfoils can extend between the inner wall and the outer wall.
Structural configurations and cooling circuits in turbine blades
A turbine blade that includes an airfoil defined by a concave shaped pressure side outer wall and a convex shaped suction side outer wall that connect along leading and trailing edges and, therebetween, form a radially extending chamber for receiving the flow of a coolant. The turbine blade further may include a rib configuration that partitions the chamber of the airfoil into radially extending flow passages. A first flow passage may include a first side on which turbulators are positioned, wherein each of the turbulators comprises a canted configuration.
Turbine blade
A turbine blade for a turbomachine includes a turbine blade with a leading edge and a trailing edge. The blade includes a radially outer platform with at least one lip extending radially towards the outside. The radially outer end of the leading edge and/or of the trailing edge of the turbine blade airfoil extending axially upstream and/or downstream, respectively, in relation to the platform. The blade has at least one partition extending radially towards the outside from the radially outer end of the turbine blade airfoil and axially between the leading edge and the upstream end of the platform and/or between the trailing edge and the downstream end of the platform.
CENTRIFUGAL PUMP WITH IMPELLER CENTERING AND VIBRATION DAMPENING
A centrifugal pump for delivering coolant in vehicles and providing a centering of a pump impeller and a dampening of motor vibrations. The centrifugal pump having a pump housing consisting of a pump head, which forms a single part with a suction nozzle, a discharge nozzle, a spoke, and a bearing support, in which a counter bearing is mounted, in which a first region of a shaft is supported, around which a pump impeller is rotatably mounted via a slide bearing secured in the pump impeller, the spoke retaining the bearing support in a central position within the pump head and having a containment shell, which separates a wet chamber from a dry chamber and in which a second region of the shaft is supported. The invention seeks to solve the problem of providing in a generic centrifugal pump.
GAS TURBINE ENGINE TRAILING EDGE EJECTION HOLES
An apparatus and method for an airfoil for a gas turbine engine includes a trailing edge cooling circuit utilizing a plurality of trailing edge ejection holes. The ejection holes can include a circumferentially radiused inlet, a converging section, a metering section, and a diverging section to improve airfoil cooling as well as castability.
Centrifugal compressor and turbocharger including the same
In a centrifugal compressor including an impeller rotatably disposed in a housing, the housing includes a shroud wall and a hub wall, which define a diffuser passage communicating with an outlet of the impeller. The diffuser flow passage includes a pinched part configured such that the shroud wall is closer to the hub wall radially outward of the centrifugal compressor from the outlet of the impeller, and a parallel part communicating with the pinched part on a radially outer side of the centrifugal compressor than the pinched part, the parallel part being configured such that the shroud wall and the hub wall are parallel to each other. The shroud wall has a surface facing the impeller and the hub wall, the surface having a cross-sectional shape where a tangent line exists at any position in a cross-section including an axis of the impeller.
