The single unducted rotor engine defines an axial direction and a radial direction, the engine including: a power source; a casing surrounding the power source; an unducted rotor assembly driven by the power source comprising a single row of rotor blades; and an outlet guide vane assembly comprising a plurality of pairs of outlet guide vanes, each pair of the plurality of pairs of outlet guide vanes including first outlet guide vane extending from the casing at a location downstream from the single row of rotor blades of the unducted rotor assembly and a second outlet guide vane also positioned downstream from the single row of rotor blades of the unducted rotor assembly; wherein the first outlet guide vane of each pair of outlet guide vanes defines a first geometry, wherein the second outlet guide vane of each pair of outlet guide vanes defines a second geometry, and wherein the first geometry is not equal to the second geometry.
DECOUPLER FOR ENGINE STARTER
An air turbine starter for starting an engine, comprising a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet for communicating a flow of gas there through. A turbine member is journaled within the housing and disposed within the flow path for rotatably extracting mechanical power from the flow of gas and a gear train is drivingly coupled with the turbine member. A drive shaft is operably coupled with the gear train, and a decoupler is selectively coupled to the drive shaft for decoupling the air turbine starter from the engine.
Aircraft turbine engine with planetary or epicyclic gear train
Aircraft turbine engine comprising a low-pressure spool that comprises a low-pressure shaft (24), means (44) for taking off power from said low-pressure shaft, and a fan (28) that is driven by said low-pressure shaft by means of a reduction gear (32), said reduction gear comprising at least one first element (50) that is connected to said low-pressure shaft for conjoint rotation, at least one second element (56) that is connected to said fan for conjoint rotation, and at least one third element (52) that is connected to a stator casing of the turbine engine, characterised in that said at least one third element is connected to said stator casing by disengageable connection means (60), and comprising at least one member that can move from a first position in which said at least one third element is fixedly connected to said stator casing into a second position in which said at least one third element is separated from said stator casing and is free to rotate about said longitudinal axis.
