Water pump
A water pump includes a support portion provided with a bearing hole, and a pulley which is provided at one end of a rotation shaft and which is formed in a cylindrical shape with a bottom. The support portion includes an annular small-diameter portion provided with the bearing hole at the center, and an annular large-diameter portion. At least a part of the small-diameter portion is located at the pulley side relative to the large-diameter portion. An annular first clearance is formed between the cylindrical portion of the pulley and the large-diameter portion. A second cylindrical portion is provided on the bottom portion of the pulley. An annular second clearance is formed between the second cylindrical portion and the small-diameter portion.
Seal air buffer and oil scupper system and method
A turbine engine strut stage extends through a gaspath upstream of a guide vane stage. A carbon seal system seals a bearing compartment and has: a carbon seal mounted to the case and a seal runner on the spool; and a seal carrier carrying the carbon seal. The engine passes buffer air along a buffer air supply path internally through one or more first struts of the stage of struts. The engine drains oil along an oil drain path internally through one or more second struts of the stage of struts.
Rotor drum for a turbomachine
A rotor drum for an aircraft turbomachine includes an annular wall extending around a longitudinal axis (A), the annular wall carrying rotor blades and having at least one bleed device configured to allow at least one liquid to pass through the annular wall. The bleed device includes a series of three adjacent circular orifices, the three orifices being aligned along a line and having a central orifice of larger diameter D1 and two lateral orifices of smaller diameter D2 diametrically opposed with respect to the central orifice.
Partial arc gutter for gas turbine engine
A gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a bearing compartment, a seal assembly configured to establish a seal of the bearing compartment. The seal assembly includes a seal plate. The gas turbine engine further includes a gutter configured to collect oil slung from the seal plate. The gutter extends only partially around the seal plate. A method is also disclosed.
ROTARY MACHINE
A rotary machine includes a rotating shaft which is rotatably provided around an axis, a casing which covers the rotating shaft from an outside in a radial direction and in which a gas flow path extending in a circumferential direction is formed, a drain pipe which is connected to a lower portion in a vertical direction of the casing and communicates with the gas flow path, an adjusting valve which is provided in the drain pipe and adjusts a flow state of a fluid in the drain pipe, and a gas flow pipe which is connected to the drain pipe at a position closer to a connection portion between the casing and the drain pipe than the adjusting valve and through which the seal gas flows.
Gas recovery system for compressor, compressor system, and refrigeration cycle system
A gas recovery system for a compressor, said gas recovery system being equipped with: a distillation column that brings a supply gas in a liquid state into contact with a mixed gas, thereby cooling and liquefying a process gas in the mixed gas, and heating and gasifying the liquid supply gas; a process gas recovery line that is connected to the lower part of the distillation column and recovers the liquid process gas discharged from the distillation column; and a supply gas recovery line that is connected to the upper part of the distillation column and recovers the gaseous supply gas discharged from the distillation column.
OIL LEAKAGE MONITORING SYSTEM
A method of monitoring a sealing component of a gas turbine engine, comprising: collecting oil leaked from the component; detecting a volume of the collected oil upstream of an oil return path of the gas turbine engine; and signalling for inspection of the component when the volume of the collected oil exceeds a threshold volume. Also disclosed is an oil leakage monitoring system for a gas turbine engine, comprising: one or more sealing components to be lubricated by oil; a valve downstream of the one or more components and fluidly connected to an oil system; a reservoir downstream of the one or more components to collect oil, the reservoir upstream of the valve; and a volume measurement device configured to detect the oil collected in the reservoir, and to signal for inspection of the one or more components when the oil collected in the reservoir exceeds a threshold volume.
Seal assembly seal land with a gas flow passage
An assembly is provided for a piece of rotational equipment. This assembly includes a stationary component, a rotating component, and a dry seal assembly. The dry seal assembly is configured to substantially seal an annular gap between the stationary component and the rotating component. The dry seal assembly includes a seal element and a seal land. The seal element is mounted to the stationary component and is configured to sealingly engage the seal land. The seal land is mounted to the rotating component and is configured to permit gas leakage across the dry seal assembly through a passageway in the seal land.
