The present disclosure provides a tuning system for tuning the operation of a gas turbine. The system comprises operational turbine controls for controlling operational control elements of the turbine, including at least one of turbine fuel distribution or the fuel temperature. The system also has a tuning controller communicating with the turbine controls. The tuning controller is configured to tune the operation of the turbine in accordance with the following steps: receiving operational data about the turbine, providing a hierarchy of tuning issues, determining whether sensed operational data is within predetermined operational limits and producing one or more indicators. If the operational data is not within predetermined operational limits, the tuning controller will rank the one or more indicators to determine dominant tuning concern, and tune the operation of the turbine based on dominant tuning concern. Also provided herein are a method and computer readable medium for tuning.

Power generation system exhaust cooling

An airflow control system control system for a gas turbine system according to an embodiment includes: an airflow generation system including a plurality of air moving systems for selective attachment to a rotatable shaft of a gas turbine system, the airflow generation system drawing in an excess flow of air through an air intake section; and a mixing area for receiving an exhaust gas stream of the gas turbine system; the airflow generation system: directing a first portion and a second portion of the excess flow of air generated by the airflow generation system into the mixing area to reduce a temperature of the exhaust gas stream; and directing a third portion of the excess flow of air generated by the airflow generation system into a discharge chamber of a compressor component of the gas turbine system.

Method and device for recursive sequential combustion

A method and a device provide a uniform recursive sequential combustion of fuel and oxidizing agents within a thermal system having a continuous flow. Compressed fresh air is directed through the combustion chamber along a primary flow direction. A proportion of the fresh air is supplied to a burner by way of a burner entry and in the burner is combusted with fuel and exits the burner as exhaust gas. The burner is disposed at an angle in relation to the primary flow direction such that part of the exhaust gas exiting the burner exit is imparted a tangential flow in relation to the primary flow direction and circulates in the combustion chamber and enters the burner entry of a downstream burner so as to be mixed with the fresh air flowing into the downstream burner such that a recursive sequential combustion is achieved.
