In various embodiments, a blade lock retainer is formed from sheet metal and comprises an annular ring portion, an outer retainer tab portion, and an inner tab portion. In various embodiments, the outer retainer tab portion is disposed on an outer circumference of the annular ring portion, oriented substantially perpendicular to the annular ring portion, and extends in an aft direction from the annular ring portion. In various embodiments, the inner retainer tab portion is disposed on an inner circumference of the annular ring portion and radially aligned with the outer retainer tab portion, oriented substantially perpendicular to the annular ring portion, and extends in a forward direction from the annular ring portion.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CORROSION PROTECTION LAYER FOR THERMAL INSULATION LAYERS MADE OF HOLLOW ALUMINUM OXIDE BALLS AND GLASS LAYER AND COMPONENT AS WELL AS MATERIAL MIXTURE
Provided is a special type of corrosion protection for ceramic thermal insulation layers which is produced by joining hollow aluminum oxide particles and an outer glass layer, which is produced; in particular, by thermal treatment.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE DETECTION OF FAN BLADE ELECTRICAL ISOLATION
An apparatus and method for detecting a short in a blade of a gas turbine engine, the apparatus including: a first plate configured to form a first capacitor with the protective sheath when the apparatus is located proximate to the blade; a second plate configured to form another capacitor with a portion of the airfoil when the apparatus is located proximate to the blade; and a voltage source electrically connected to the first plate and the second plate.
BLADE COMPRISING A FOLDED LEADING EDGE SHIELD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE BLADE
A blade including a blade body made of organic matrix composite material and a leading edge shield made of a material that withstands point impacts better than the composite material of the blade body. The blade includes a blade tip. The leading edge shield is assembled on the blade body and includes a pressure-side fin and a suction-side fin. The pressure-side fin includes a pressure-side tab and the suction-side fin includes a suction-side tab, the pressure-side tab and the suction-side tab are folded one on the other and being secured to each other so as to form a partial covering of the blade tip. A turbojet includes a fan including such blades, and also a method of fabricating such a blade.
BLADE COMPRISING A LEADING EDGE SHIELD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE BLADE
The invention provides a blade (16) comprising a blade body (30) made of organic matrix composite material reinforced by fibers and a leading edge shield (32) made of a material that withstands point impacts better than the composite material of the blade body. The leading edge shield (32) is assembled on the blade body (30) and the blade (16) includes bonding reinforcement (46) adhesively bonded on the leading edge shield (32) and on the blade body (16). The invention also provides a turbojet including a fan including such blades, and also a method of fabricating such a blade.
Erosion resistant material and turbine blade
An erosion resistant material has a continuous portion and discontinuous portions. The continuous portion has a continuous structure. The discontinuous portions are arranged inside the continuous portion to have a discontinuous structure. The discontinuous portions are formed of particles having an average particle diameter of 1 m or less. Further, the discontinuous portions are formed of a material having a surface hardness and a Young's modulus higher than those of the continuous portion.
Turbine blade attachment rails for attachment fillet stress reduction
The present disclosure provides a fir tree coupling for gas turbine engine parts comprising a load beam having a longitudinal axis, a base, a first side, and a second side, a rail extending from the base of the load beam between the first side and the second side, a tooth running parallel to the longitudinal axis disposed on the first side of the load beam. The rail may comprise at least one of, a convex sidewall having a convex curvature, a concave sidewall having a concave curvature, or a vertical sidewall extending perpendicular to the base. The rail may comprise a sidewall comprising a sidewall step wherein the sidewall has a step cut into a portion of the rail. The rail may comprise a tapered sidewall wherein the tapered sidewall extends at an angle to the base.
Flame-holder device
A flame-holder device for a reheat channel of a turbojet, the device including an arm in the form of a trough defining a cavity and a heat shield fastened in the cavity of the arm. The flame-holder device further includes a fastener plate including a first leg integrally formed with the fastener plate and a second leg removably mounted on the plate, the arm being fastened to the first and second legs via fastener members.
FAN
A fan for a gas turbine engine, the fan comprising a first set of fan blades and a second set of fan blades arranged circumferentially around a hub. Each of the fan blades of the first and second set comprises an organic matrix composite body and a leading edge member connected to the body. The leading edge member of the first set of fan blades has a mass less than the leading edge member of the second set of fan blades.
Turbine blade attachment curved rib stiffeners
The present disclosure provides a fir tree coupling for gas turbine engine parts comprising a load beam having a longitudinal axis, a rounded base, a first side, and a second side, wherein the rounded base has a radius of curvature from the first side to the second side, a tooth running parallel to the longitudinal axis and disposed on the first side of the load beam. The fir tree coupling may comprise a channel through the rounded base across a portion of the radius of curvature from the first side to the second side. The channel may comprise a sidewall having a sidewall step cut into a portion of the channel sidewall.
