A Scabiosa atropurpurea plant characterized by an inflorescence diameter above 7 cm is provided. Also provided are a Scabiosa atropurpurea plant characterized by a pedicel length above 60 cm, and a Scabiosa atropurpurea plant characterized by a pedicel diameter above 5 mm.
Methods of determining sensitivity to photoperiod in cannabis
This disclosure pertains to markers and methods useful in identifying Cannabis plants that have a day length neutral phenotype, and methods of breeding plants having a day length neutral phenotype.
INHIBITION OF BOLTING AND FLOWERING OF A BETA VULGARIS PLANT
The present invention provides means for inhibiting the bolting and flowering of a Beta vulgaris plant, including an isolated nucleic acid, which can be used to produce a transgenic Beta vulgaris plant, where bolting and flowering is inhibited after vernalization. Furthermore, the invention discloses vectors, transgenic and non-transgenic, non-bolting plants and parts thereof, and methods for producing such plants.
DOUBLE-FLOWERED TORENIA PLANT WITH EXCELLENT ORNAMENTAL PROPERTIES, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A method for producing a double-flowered Torenia plant including the steps of obtaining an F1 population by crossing a Torenia plant belonging to a semi-double-flowered strain and a Torenia plant belonging to a multiple-carpel strain, and of selecting, from a second- or subsequent-generation hybrid population, a fully double-flowered individual having a flower with 15 or more developed petals, the second- or subsequent-generation hybrid population being a population of a second or subsequent generation derived from a first-generation hybrid population, and the first-generation hybrid population being the F1 population that has been obtained. A fully double-flowered Torenia plant that belongs to a fully double-flowered strain, a progeny population thereof, or their mutant population, and that has a flower with 15 or more developed petals.
