A system is provided comprising a tunnel for immersion in a moving mass. Energy from the mass passing through said tunnel converts to rotational force. An energy collector is provided having open and collapsed states, the open state resisting the mass. Bidirectional converter systems convert said rotational force to constant singular direction. A mechanical converter comprises an input shaft turned bidirectionally by said rotational force and two gears driven by the input shaft in opposite rotational directions, the gears separately attached to idler gears causing output gears attached to the idler gears to engage an output shaft in a same rotational direction. A hydraulic converter comprises a hydraulic pump turned bidirectionally by said rotational force. Check valves positioned between the pump and a hydraulic motor enable control of pressure and volume in one direction at the pump.

Electro-hydraulic drive system

Provided is an electro-hydraulic drive system including first and second electro-hydraulic transmissions for driving respective wheels, the transmissions each including an electric motor, a hydraulic pump driven by the electric motor, and a hydraulic motor drive by the hydraulic pump. When used in a turf vehicle, such as a zero-turn-radius mower, the electro-hydraulic drive system operates the wheels independently from an engine of the mower, thereby allowing the mower to be moved without having to start the engine. In this way, power consumption is lowered and total efficiency of the mower is increased.

Both downsizing of an apparatus as a whole and reduction in a product cost are attained. The preferred embodiments relate to a drive device including an alternating-current rotary electric machine, an inverter, and a case. The inverter is fixed to the case. The case and the inverter are disposed in a driving force source room. The inverter includes shunt resistors to detect currents flowing in respective switching element units for corresponding phases.

Hybrid hydraulic-operated bicycle
09598143 · 2017-03-21 ·

A hydraulically-powered bicycle having a frame, handle bars, a front tire, and a hydraulically powered drive wheel. The drive wheel is powered by oil from a sump which is pressurized by a pair of foot-operated pumps. An accumulator selectively stores and releases energy stored in a spring under the control of a control valve. When released the stored energy provides an energy boost to the bicycle. The pumps are dual piston devices that selectively couple a second piston to a first piston. The pumps implement a power control using the dual pistons. Coupling the pistons together is performed by a linkage assembly having linkage arms and linkage pivots.

Construction machinery

Provided is construction machinery that is capable of greatly reducing the amount of fuel consumption by making effective use of recovered energy. The construction machinery has a first hydraulic pump 3 for discharging hydraulic oil for driving an actuator 6, a second hydraulic pump 9, a second prime mover 7 for driving the second hydraulic pump 9, energy storage device 8 for storing energy for driving the second prime mover 7, and a hydraulic oil supply circuit 10 including a hydraulic oil switching section 11c that accepts the hydraulic oil discharged from the first hydraulic pump and the hydraulic oil discharged from the second hydraulic pump and supplies either the mixture of the accepted hydraulic oils or a selected one of the accepted hydraulic oils to the actuator 6. The construction machinery includes a control device 20 that, when the drive efficiency of the second hydraulic pump 9 and/or the amount of energy stored in the energy storage device 8 is higher than a preselected setting value, outputs a switch command to the hydraulic oil switching section 11c and outputs a drive command to the second prime mover 7.

Diagnostic system and method for monitoring hydraulic pump
12265000 · 2025-04-01 · ·

A system and method include a hydraulic system onboard an aircraft, a first temperature sensor, a second temperature sensor, and a controller. The first temperature sensor measures a first temperature of hydraulic fluid upstream of an inlet of a pump of the hydraulic system. The second temperature sensor measures a second temperature of the hydraulic fluid within a cooling flow stream downstream of an outlet of the pump. The controller determines a value of a temperature rise of the hydraulic fluid across the pump as a difference between the first temperature and the second temperature, and obtains an expected range for the temperature rise across the pump based on a speed of the pump. In response to the value of the temperature rise being outside of the expected range, the controller generates a maintenance message for communication off-board the aircraft, indicating the pump is degraded.
