Self-tapping screw
09790979 · 2017-10-17 ·

A self-tapping including a normal thread (10) and a female screw molding thread (12) having a larger diameter than that of the normal thread (10), out of pitches of the normal thread (10) positioned in a head portion side from the female screw molding thread (12), any one pitch is set to be larger than other pitches. The self-tapping not only reduces driving torques but also improves fastening force, and thus can be applied to various workpieces made of the soft material as well as a hard material.

Threaded fastening element

A screw includes at least one helical thread with a peripheral edge having notched regions spaced apart by notch-free regions. An underside of a head of the screw includes projecting nibs.

Screw for cutting a thread

The invention relates to a screw for cutting a thread into a component, having a shank which at least in portions is provided with a thread, a screw head having a drive configuration, the latter being adjoined by the shank, wherein, proceeding from an end of the shank that is opposite the head, first a cutting portion and then a holding portion are disposed, wherein the cutting portion and the holding portion are provided with a thread, wherein the holding portion has a larger external diameter in relation to the cutting portion, characterized in that a truncated-cone-type intermediate portion that is provided with a thread is disposed between the holding portion and the cutting portion, and in that the cutting portion has a truncated-cone-type attachment portion.

SCREW CONNECTION FOR A COMPONENT MADE OF THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL

The present disclosure relates to a screw connection comprising a support component, an additional component and a screw to affix the support component to the additional component. The support component comprises a tube made of plastic to accommodate the screw in a friction and positive fit, wherein the tube comprises a thermoplastic foam. The screw comprises a blunt-edged screw thread. The foam is compacted as the screw is driven into the tube. The present disclosure further relates to a corresponding screw and to a method of connecting a support component to an additional component using the screw.

FLOORING SCREW

A nail screw, in particular for connecting facade boards or terrace planks made of wood, especially real wood, has a shaft, a conical tip formed at the front end region of the shaft and a head formed at the rear end region of the shaft. A thread has a forward facing insertion flank and a rearward facing grip flank between the conical tip and the head. The thread is a double thread, wherein a grip flank angle (α) measured between the grip flank and a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the nail screw is between 25 and 35 degrees, more preferably between 28 and 32 degrees, most preferably 30 degrees. The conical tip has a tip angle (ε) between 80 and 120 degrees, more preferably between 90 and 110 degrees, most preferably of 80, 90 or 100 degrees.

SCREW AND SCREW CONNECTION FOR COMPONENTS MADE OF FOAMED PLASTIC

The present disclosure relates to a screw connection comprising a support component, an additional component and a screw to fasten the support component to the additional component. The support component has a tube made of thermoplastic foam to accommodate the screw in a friction and positive fit. The screw has a blunt-edged thread, enabling the screw to compress the foam in the tube as it is driven in. The ratio of the inner diameter of the tube to the diameter of the screw depends on the degree of foaming of the tube and decreases as the degree of foaming increases. In comparison to conventional screws, the threads of the screw of the present disclosure penetrate less deeply into the foam or they displace it, preventing damage to the tube while enabling a tight fit.
