Faceted lobular threads
A faceted lobular threaded component and methods for making and/or installing the same. A faceted lobular threaded component may include a head, and a shank extending along a longitudinal axis away from the head. The component may also include an external faceted lobular thread in the shank extending around the longitudinal axis. The external faceted lobular thread may include at least four facets per thread revolution, and at least four lobes per thread revolution circumferentially interspersed between the at least four facets and established by the at least four facets.
THREADED SLEEVE FOR ASSEMBLING WITH HEAT INPUT IN A COMPONENT MANUFACTURED BY FDM PROCESS
A threaded sleeve for assembling with heat input in a component manufactured by FDM process is provided. The threaded sleeve includes a groove along its longitudinal axis. Further, the outwardly facing surface of the threaded sleeve includes a self-tapping thread which is divided into two sections along the threaded sleeve's longitudinal axis. The first section includes a constant pitch diameter and the second area comprises a pitch diameter decreasing along its longitudinal axis. The inwardly facing surface of the threaded sleeve comprises a metric thread. Furthermore, a kit, a system and a method for assembling with heat input the above-mentioned threaded sleeve in a component manufactured by FDM process is provided.
Screw with separate thread helix and integral thread start
A screw including a shank having a tip end and a rear end, which is located opposite the tip end, and at least one screw thread, which is arranged on the shank, which winds around the shank and which protrudes from the shank, wherein the screw thread includes a separate screw thread section, which is constituted by a separate helix element that is non-monolithically arranged on the shank. The at least one screw thread includes a thread start, which extends further towards the tip end than does the separate screw thread section, and which forms a generally helical continuation of the separate screw thread section, wherein the thread start and the shank are monolithic.
Self-tapping screw
A self-tapping including a normal thread (10) and a female screw molding thread (12) having a larger diameter than that of the normal thread (10), out of pitches of the normal thread (10) positioned in a head portion side from the female screw molding thread (12), any one pitch is set to be larger than other pitches. The self-tapping not only reduces driving torques but also improves fastening force, and thus can be applied to various workpieces made of the soft material as well as a hard material.
Fastener, installation tool and related method of use
A fastener including a chisel point that pre-bores a hole in a work piece to prevent damage to the work piece as the fastener advances. The fastener can include a head, a shaft and a chisel brake point formed at an end of the shaft. The chisel brake point can include first and second opposing inclined surfaces disposed at an angle of about 80° to about 150° relative to one another. A thread can begin adjacent the chisel brake point and form an extension of an inclined surface and/or a chisel edge. The chisel brake point can scrape material from a work piece while pre-boring a hole. The material can be transferred to the thread, and subsequently fed up the thread, out of the pre-bored hole. The chisel brake point can also selectively retard advancement of the fastener into the work piece. Methods of installing the fastener also are provided.
Nail screw
A nail screw, in particular for connecting facade boards or terrace planks made of wood, especially real wood, has a shaft, a conical tip formed at the front end region of the shaft and a head formed at the rear end region of the shaft. A thread has a forward facing insertion flank and a rearward facing grip flank between the conical tip and the head. The thread is a double thread, wherein a grip flank angle (α) measured between the grip flank and a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the nail screw is between 25 and 35 degrees, more preferably between 28 and 32 degrees, most preferably 30 degrees. The conical tip has a tip angle (ε) between 80 and 120 degrees, more preferably between 90 and 110 degrees, most preferably of 80, 90 or 100 degrees.
Sheet metal screw
A sheet metal screw includes one or more of a tapered self-drilling tip, an asymmetric thread angle and/or a trilobular thread edge profile.
Variable thread knurl fastener
A fastener includes a shank having a point at a first end and a second, head end. A first portion of a thread is formed with a first thread angle and a second portion of the thread is formed with a second thread angle. One or more knurls are provided in the shaft in the threaded or unthreaded regions of the fastener. The thread may be serrated or jagged over one or more portions of the fastener, including the area of the first thread angle.
Anti-pullout and low-resistance screw
An anti-pullout and low-resistance screw includes a shank, a screw-in portion, a head portion, and a thread. The thread is helically formed around both the screw-in portion and the shank and includes a plurality of thread convolutions. Each thread convolution includes an upper tooth surface facing the head portion and a lower tooth surface facing the screw-in portion. At least one tapered pressing structure is designed on the screw-in portion and/or the shank to define at least one section with its outer diameter tapering towards the screw-in portion gradually. The tapered pressing structure extends from a bottom edge of the lower tooth surface along a longitudinal axis of the shank. The lower tooth surface has a lower tooth surface height that is greater than the thread height. An annular anti-pullout plane is formed on the shank between two adjacent thread convolutions to enhance the anti-pullout strength of the screw.
Self-tapping screw
A self-tapping screw made of synthetic material has a threaded shank defining a screw center line. The screw has proximal and distal insertion ends, the shank including first and second portions, the second proximal to the first. The pitch is the same in the first and second portions, and has a complete thread cross-section in the second portion. In the first portion, in the direction of the thread, the thread is divided into segments having an incomplete thread cross-section, the thread segments having leading end and trailing ends. The leading end of one thread segment extends further radially than the leading end of the thread segment preceding it and forms a cutting edge. In most of the thread segments the thread top in question, for substantially its full length, starting with the leading end, considered in thread direction, is situated at a constant radial distance from the center line.
