Friction welding element, and a method for connecting the friction welding element to a housing
09764417 · 2017-09-19 · ·

A friction welding method for fastening a connection bushing, such as a threaded bushing for example, in a housing. In order to improve the quality of the connection, the connection bushing is attached to the housing using a friction welding element. The friction welding element consists of the connection bushing, on which a friction welding shell with a radially outer friction welding contour is formed or molded. Connecting and sealing portions are produced between the friction welding element and the housing during the friction welding process by means of a special design of the friction welding contour.

Disclosed is a shear screw nail, adapted to be in connection a steel skeleton, and comprising a resistance body, configured with a connecting portion at a predetermined position thereof, the connecting portion being hollow inside and configured with at least one connecting recess, and one end of the resistance body being configured with a flange, the width of which is larger than the resistance body. Whereby, a connecting body is in connection with the connecting portion, penetrated through a plate body and supporting body, and then locked through a fixing body and locking body at the penetration end thereof to fix the plate body and supporting body, thereby achieving the effects of fixing the plate body and supporting body and strengthening the breaking strength of the steel skeleton.

Resistance welding fastener, apparatus and methods

An apparatus and method for fastening dissimilar materials like steel, plastic and aluminum. A resistance welding fastener having multiple layers may be used with or without a sealant. The fastener may be used to form an aluminum covered steel laminate via a hemming pattern of attachment. The fastener may have a solid shaft or have an extended reach and have features for interacting with the welding electrode. A variety of electrode tips may be employed to cooperate with the fastener.

BUSHING ASSEMBLY

A bushing assembly comprises a bushing element having a first surface, which is adapted to come into contact with a shoulder, and a threaded hole, which defines and axis and is adapted to be engaged by a screw; and a cage element, which is fitted around the bushing element so that the bushing element is supported and is floating; the cage element is adapted to be fixed to the shoulder and is provided with at least one opening; the opening defines an end abutment of the cage element; the bushing element comprises at least one stop portion, which engages the opening with an angular clearance and is movable around the axis at least between a first angular position, in which the stop portion is spaced apart from the abutment, and a second angular position, in which the stop portion is in contact with the abutment so as to prevent the bushing element from rotating past the second angular position; the stop portion is defined by an appendage element, which is distinct from the surface and the surface is circular.

Bonding objects together

The relates to a method of mechanically securing a first object to a second object and includes the steps of: providing the first object including thermoplastic material in a solid state, providing the second object with a generally flat sheet portion having an edge, positioning the first object relative to the second object and bringing the first object and the second object to a relative movement to each other. The relative movement includes a rotational movement, such that a melting zone including flowable thermoplastic material is formed and such that thermoplastic material of the melting zone flows around the edge to at least partially embed the edge in the thermoplastic material. The invention further concerns a connector that is suitable for being used in a method according to the invention.
