LOCKING MECHANISMS WITH SUBSTRATE-FIXED WASHERS

A fastener assembly is provided and includes a fastener member and a washer member. The fastener member includes an end, an opposing head, and an elongated threaded body portion extending therebetween. The threaded body defines a center axis. The head includes a pawl arm having a pawl tooth and a flange. The washer member includes an axial aperture formed therethrough and a lock tab extending therefrom. The lock tab is configured to be received within a recess defined in a substrate member to rotationally fix the washer member relative to the substrate member. The washer member further includes a plurality of lock teeth. The pawl tooth is configured to intermesh with the lock teeth to allow rotation of the fastener member relative to the washer member in a first direction about the center axis, and substantially prevent rotation in an opposite second direction about the center axis.

An electrical nut assembly for coupling an electrical lug to an electrical post is disclosed. The electrical nut assembly comprises a compression fitting and a compression sleeve. The compression fitting comprises a material comprising a first yield strength and comprises an internal thread operable to electrically couple to the electrical post and a base surface configured to electrically couple to the electrical lug. The compression sleeve comprises a material comprising a second yield strength greater than the first yield strength and is sized to at least partially cover the compression fitting. The compression sleeve is configured to compress the compression fitting in a radial direction when fitted at least partially over the compression fitting and pressed or advanced axially towards the base surface and as the compression fitting makes contact with the electrical lug.

REACTION WASHER-BASED ACTUATION-REACTION TORQUE TRANSFER

A reaction washer is optimized for lock-on, optional stiction ring and for a predetermined indentation depth of bidirectional serrations for secure reaction torque transfer during initial and full actuation of respective nut or bolt heads resting on it. An optional lock-on ring embedded around the reaction socket is ergonomically actuated to latch on and off underneath the reaction washer. Axial offset of the peak stress areas away from the actuation socket edges provides for reduced actuation socket diameter and consequently for the entire tool and system remaining substantially within radial assembly limits established for prior art actuation sockets alone. A coupling unit is attached to and tightened on a power torque wrench via a clamp tool utilizing the power wrench's own torque. A hand hold groove and a lock able snap release button offset from the coupling castle snap connection contribute to safe and ergonomic operation and system peak performance.

LOCK NUT

A lock nut includes: a first nut having a tapered cavity; and a second nut including a base portion and a tapered lug boss arranged the base portion. The tapered lug boss can be coupled inside the tapered cavity. The first and second nuts are used in pair by self-locking. A straight slot is formed in the lug boss. Under the locking action of the first nut, the straight slot is deformed to further lock a bolt, or is discontinuously engaged with teeth of the bolt to increase an effective stress surface and locking performance of the second nut for locking the bolt. A convex reinforcing rib extends on a first surface of the first nut. An annular groove is formed in a second surface of the second nut. The convex reinforcing rib is coupled with the annular groove to enhance the strength and reliability of locking.

DAMPING ARRANGEMENT, COMPONENT WITH DAMPING ARRANGEMENT AS WELL AS CORRESPONDING COMPONENT CONNECTION, A MANUFACTURING METHOD AND A CONNECTING METHOD

A damping arrangement which is fastenable in an opening of a first component and by which a dampened connection of the first component with a second component is realizable, including, two identically constructed damping elements. Each damping element includes: a head portion with a first outer diameter, a shaft portion with a second outer diameter that is smaller than the first outer diameter and extends from a bottom side of the head portion, as well as a central first thru-opening, and only one sleeve with a central second thru-opening being arranged at least partly in the central first thru-opening of each damping element by means of a frictional and/or material connection. By means of the only one sleeve, the two identically constructed damping elements with bottom sides, facing each other, of the head portion with the first component arranged in between are fastenable to one another.

Disclosed is a fastener assembly to avoid accidental loosening due to vibrations. The fastener assembly includes a circular profiled locking washer and a lock nut. The locking washer is detachably attachable to an arm. The locking washer provides a plurality of leaf-shaped grooves on a first surface, and a central axial aperture for receiving a threaded shaft. The lock nut further provides a plurality of spring loaded balls on a surface facing the first surface of the locking washer. During operation, the lock nut is tightened on the threaded shaft by rotating in clockwise direction, and cessation of rotation, latches the plurality of spring loaded balls with the plurality of leaf-shaped grooves to lock the lock nut, and hence to withstand counter-rotative torque on the lock nut caused by vibrations.
