The multiple bearing assemblies may also be disposed on opposite sides of the planet gear system.

DOUBLE-ROW SELF-ALIGNING ROLLER BEARING

A double-row self-aligning roller bearing, which is suitable for receiving an axial load and a radial load, and loads having different magnitudes acting on rollers in two rows, and achieves sufficient load capacity for the rollers that receive axial load within the constraint of dimensional standards, is provided. The double-row self-aligning roller bearing includes inner and outer rings; and rollers in two rows arranged in a bearing width direction interposed between the inner and outer rings and having lengths different from each other. The roller has an outer peripheral surface of a cross-sectional shape along a raceway surface of the outer ring having a spherical shape. Length of the longer rollers is equal to or greater than 39% of the bearing width. A ratio of contact angle of the shorter rollers and contact angle of the longer rollers is within a range of 1:4 to 1:2.

CYLINDRICAL ROLLER BEARING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A CYLINDRICAL ROLLER BEARING

Cylindrical roller bearings and methods for the production thereof are disclosed, wherein the cylindrical roller bearings can be manufactured inexpensively and with adequately high quality.

The cylindrical roller bearing may have an inner ring, an outer ring, and a multiplicity of cylindrical rollers, wherein the cylindrical rollers are arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring. The outer ring has an internal raceway for the cylindrical rollers, a fixed-rim portion, and a flanged-rim portion. The inner ring has an external raceway for the cylindrical rollers, and the internal raceway and/or the external raceway are/is formed into a final contour by extrusion.

Roller profile for hourglass roller bearings in aircraft

An edge flap arrangement for an aircraft wing includes a main flap element and an actuator for moving the main flap element relative to the aircraft wing. A linkage arrangement supports the main flap element and includes a drop hinge link arrangement having a fixed strut secured to the aircraft wing and a drop link secured to the main flap element. The fixed strut and the drop link are connected by a hinge point having an hourglass bearing assembly having hourglass shaped rollers with a circular cross section symmetrical about a longitudinal axis, first and second axial ends, and an exterior surface. The exterior surface defines a concave engagement surface having a first radius of curvature R1 and a second radius of curvature which is greater than the first radius of curvature R1. The first radius of curvature is between 50 and 95 percent of the second radius of curvature.
