The bearing housing further includes an oil drain disposed radially outward of the shaft and configured for directing oil out of the bearing housing and an oil core disposed radially outward of the shaft and radially inward of the oil drain, the oil core configured for communicating oil towards the oil drain and having an inner wall. The bearing housing includes one or more strakes protruding radially inward from the inner wall, the one or more strakes configured to direct oil within the oil core towards the oil drain.

ROLLING BEARING, PARTICULARLY HYBRID ROLLING BEARING FOR REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR

A rolling bearing having an inner raceway and an outer raceway and a plurality of rolling elements arranged therebetween. The rolling bearing is media-lubricated or oil-free lubricated. The lubricant forms an elasto-hydrodynamic lubricant film between the rolling elements and the raceways. At first use of the rolling bearing, at least one surface of the rolling bearing is coated with a protective fluid, preferably an oil-based preservative fluid. Also, a refrigerant compressor having such a rolling bearing.

Downhole motor bearing pack

A rotatable bearing assembly transfers a weight of a drill string to a mud motor output shaft extending therethrough. The bearing assembly includes an outer bearing housing, an upper radial bearing assembly providing an upper radial bearing between the outer bearing housing and the output shaft, a balance piston that fluidly seals an upper end of the outer bearing housing and balances a pressure within the outer bearing housing, a lower radial bearing/seal assembly configured to both fluidly seal a lower end of the outer bearing housing and provide a lower radial bearing between the outer bearing housing and the output shaft, and a thrust bearing assembly received within the sealed interior of the outer bearing housing such that the bearing assembly initially operates in a sealed, lubricated mode and then a mud lube mode in the event of one or more seal failures. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Provided is a rolling bearing, in particular for a wind turbine, including an inner race, an outer race, a plurality of rolling elements arranged between the inner race and the outer race, and lubricant for lubricating the rolling bearing, wherein the inner race and the outer race each have a bearing surface with a contact zone in contact with the rolling elements, the bearing surface of at least one of the inner race and the outer race has a portion having a lipophobic surface for repelling the lubricant. The suggested rolling bearing has the advantage that the lubricant in the bearing does not stick to the portion, where it is useless for lubricating the bearing. Therefore, the rolling bearing can have a better lubrication, since the lubricant is directed towards the contact zone, where contact between the races and the rolling elements takes place.
