HYBRID ROLLING BEARING, PARTICULARLY FOR REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR
A Hybrid rolling bearing includes an inner raceway and an outer raceway and a plurality of rolling elements arranged therebetween. The outer raceway and the inner raceway are made from bearing steel, having a first surface RMS roughness R.sub.q1. The rolling elements are made from a ceramic material and have second surface RMS roughnesses R.sub.q2,i. At least one of the rolling elements has an increased surface RMS roughness R.sub.q2,N, which is significantly higher than the RMS roughnesses R.sub.q2,i, of the remaining rolling elements. The hybrid rolling bearing can be installed within a refrigerant compressor.
BEARING APPARATUS INCLUDING A BEARING ASSEMBLY HAVING A CONTINUOUS BEARING ELEMENT AND A TILTING PAD BEARING ASSEMBLY
Embodiments of the invention relate to bearing apparatuses including a bearing assembly having a continuous superhard bearing element including a continuous superhard bearing surface and a tilting pad bearing assembly. The disclosed bearing apparatuses may be employed in pumps, turbines or other mechanical systems. In an embodiment, the bearing apparatus includes a first and second bearing assembly. The first bearing assembly includes a first support ring and a plurality of tilting pads. Each tilting pad is tilted and/or tiltably secured relative to the first support ring. The second bearing assembly includes a continuous superhard bearing element. The continuous superhard bearing element includes a continuous superhard bearing surface facing the plurality of tilting pads and exhibits a maximum lateral width greater than about 2 inches.
CERAMIC BALL MATERIAL, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CERAMIC BALL USING SAME, AND CERAMIC BALL
A ceramic ball material according to an embodiment including: a spherical portion; and a band-shaped portion formed over a circumference of a surface of the spherical portion. The ceramic ball material has a ratio Rtb/Rts of 1.0 or more, where Rtb denotes a maximum cross-sectional height of a roughness profile on an outer peripheral surface of the band-shaped portion; and Rts denotes a maximum cross-sectional height of roughness on an outer peripheral surface of the spherical portion.
Cooling system
A cooling system includes a refrigerant compressor and a first operating medium, which includes a mixture of refrigerant and lubrication oil. An oil separator reduces the percentage of the refrigerant in the operating medium so that a second lubrication oil enriched operating medium is provided by the oil separator, the provided second operating medium having at least in a second operating state a viscosity ratio of >1.
Cooling system
A cooling system includes a refrigerant compressor and a first operating medium, which provides a mixture of refrigerant and lubrication oil. An oil separator reduces the percentage of the refrigerant in the operating medium to a value between 25% by weight and 80% by weight.

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to bearing apparatuses including a bearing assembly having a continuous superhard bearing element including a continuous superhard bearing surface and a tilting pad bearing assembly. The disclosed bearing apparatuses may be employed in pumps, turbines or other mechanical systems. In an embodiment, the bearing apparatus includes a first and second bearing assembly. The first bearing assembly includes a first support ring and a plurality of tilting pads. Each tilting pad is tilted and/or tiltably secured relative to the first support ring. The second bearing assembly includes a continuous superhard bearing element. The continuous superhard bearing element includes a continuous superhard bearing surface facing the plurality of tilting pads and exhibits a maximum lateral width greater than about 2 inches.
Sliding components
Provided is sliding components capable of stably obtaining a low-friction effect even in a non-lubricated environment. Sliding components and have sliding surfaces and performing relative sliding. A carbon film in which a polymer structure is dispersed is formed on the sliding surface of the sliding component. The proportion of the polymer structure dispersed in the carbon film is such that an extinction coefficient of 0.2 or less and a refractive index of 1.5 to 2.0 are satisfied in a wavelength range of 550 nm of spectroscopic ellipsometry.
Bearing with electric insulators and thermal conductor
An insulated bearing assembly for coupling a shaft with an outer member includes an inner race disposed upon the shaft and an outer race disposed about the inner race and having an outer circumferential surface and axial ends. An annular insulator is formed of an electrically insulative and thermally conductive material and is coupled with either the outer race or the inner race such that the insulator is generally disposed between the outer race and the outer member or between the inner race and the shaft. A polymeric member has an annular portion(s) disposed against one of the two axial ends of the coupled outer race or inner race and an axial portion(s) extending from the annular portion and coupled with the insulator member so as to retain the insulator member coupled with the outer race or the inner race when the bearing assembly is separate from the outer member.

A bearing component, such as a bearing roller or a bearing ring, has an exterior surface and includes at least one interior region made of a recycled material which region is spaced from and does not form any part of the exterior surface. The recycled material and the unrecycled material may each include silicon nitride and/or sialon and/or silicon carbide and/or a ceramic material. Also a method of forming the component.
