Bearing assembly with combination set screw and concentric shaft locking mechanism

A bearing assembly has an inner ring with an inner diameter configured to receive a shaft. The inner ring has axial slots and at least two radial holes. A collar configured to surround the inner ring is provided. The collar has two radial holes. Each of the collar radial holes is alignable with the at least two inner ring radial holes. Each of the collar radial holes is configured to threadably receive set screws extendable from the collar through the at least two radial holes of the inner ring to engage the shaft. The collar has a radial slot and is adjustable to compress the radial slot to tighten the collar around the inner ring and the inner ring around the shaft. In the alternative, the bearing assembly may be provided with two collars—one for a set screw only configuration and another for a concentric clamping only configuration.

A device for coupling and centering tools has a tubular portion with a coupling seat laterally delimited by a cylindrical centering surface, a first threaded hole with a first tightening dowel projecting into the coupling seat, a second threaded hole with a second tightening end projecting into the coupling seat, a third hole tangential to the centering surface and a locking pin removably lockable in the third hole in a position interfering with the coupling seat, and removable from the third hole to free the coupling seat.

Steering System

In a steering system, a first universal joint includes a first yoke coupled to an intermediate shaft. A second universal joint includes a fourth yoke paired with a third yoke coupled to the intermediate shaf and a shaft attachment portion joined to the fourth yoke and in which a bolt insertion hole allowing a pinion shaft to be clamped is formed. When an angle between the intermediate shaf and a steering shaft is set to θ1, an around-axis angle of the first yoke in a rotating direction is set to ω1, and an angle between the intermediate shaft and the pinion shaft is set to θ2, a junction angle between the fourth yoke and the shaft attachment portion in the rotating direction is adjusted to set an around-axis angle of the bolt insertion hole in the rotating direction to a preset angle ω2.

Composite drive shafts

A drive shaft is for selectively connecting a drive input to an output. The drive shaft has a tubular portion, a first diaphragm member, and a second diaphragm member displaced axially along the shaft from the first diaphragm member. The first and second diaphragm members each are formed with two axial ends. At least one undulation extends radially of the ends. The tubular portion connects the first and second diaphragm members. The first and second diaphragm members and the tubular portion are formed of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites. The first and second diaphragm members are connected to first and second axial ends of the tubular portion through a mechanical connection at joints. There is also a method of forming a drive shaft.

Apparatus and method for an improved driveline coupler having a reversible saddle thereon which allows it to be configured to work with different sizes and shapes of shafts. The reversible saddle is configured on one side to work with one size of driveline shaft and configured on the opposite side to work with a different size driveline shaft so that in the field, an operator can modify the driveline coupler from use with a first size of drive shaft to a second size of drive shaft easily and quickly by turning the saddle upside down.

ASSEMBLY FOR CONNECTING AN ADAPTER SHAFT TO A SHAFT IN A FORCE-FITTING MANNER USING A CLAMPING RING

In an assembly for connecting an adapter shaft to a shaft in a force-fitting manner using a clamping ring, the clamping ring is mounted on the adapter shaft, the shaft is inserted into the adapter shaft, the clamping ring has a first radially uninterrupted threaded bore into which a first screw part is screwed, in particular a first threaded pin, which exerts pressure on the adapter shaft, the clamping ring has a second radially uninterrupted threaded bore into which a second screw part is screwed, in particular a second threaded pin, and the second screw part projects at least partially into a recess of the adapter shaft and in particular exerts pressure on the adapter shaft.

A joint according to one aspect of the disclosure includes: a joint body having an input gear meshing with a speed reduction mechanism, the joint body receiving an output shaft of a motor detachably coupled to the joint body; a motor flange disposed between the speed reduction mechanism and the motor and rotatably supporting the joint body; and an intermediate flange connecting between the motor flange and the motor. At least one fixing member for fixing the joint body and the output shaft to each other is provided at at least one position in the joint body that overlaps with the intermediate flange as viewed from a radial direction. The intermediate flange is formed as an annulus surrounding the joint body by a plurality of split pieces that can be split in a circumferential direction.

Steering shaft assembly

A shaft assembly includes a yoke having a yoke body having an exterior surface extending between a first end and a second end along a first axis. The yoke body defines a first bore and a second bore. The first bore extends along the first axis between the first end and the second end. The second bore extends partially across the yoke body along a second axis that is disposed transverse to the first axis. The second bore at least partially intersects the first bore.
