Reduced noise flexplate

A flexplate assembly comprising a central plate having a general disc shape disposed about and extending radially from an axis. The central plate has a first radial width. A ring gear is annularly secured about the central plate and presents an outer circumference that defines a plurality of ring teeth extending therefrom. At least one noise plate is disposed adjacent to the central plate and extends circumferentially about the axis for reducing vibrations and noise from the flexplate assembly. The noise plate has a second radial width that is at least one half of the first radial width of the central plate. A method of constructing such a flexplate assembly is also provided.

A magnetic clutch pump arrangement is provided. The pump arrangement includes a pump housing containing an impeller shaft, a containment shell sealing an enclosed chamber within the housing, an impeller mounted on the impeller shaft, an inner rotor mounted on the other end of the impeller shaft, a drive motor, a drive shaft drivable by the drive motor, and an outer rotor outside of the enclosed chamber, mounted on the drive shaft, which magnetically interacts with the inner rotor. The external rotor has a hub with a through-bore having an interior surface which includes an axial groove extending parallel to the axis of rotation which cooperates with a feather key and a drive shaft key groove to rotationally secure the hub to the drive shaft. At least one radially circumferential first groove and at least one radially circumferential second groove in the hub interior surface receive tolerance rings.

COUPLING DISC

A coupling disc (40) is disclosed for coupling a rotating electrical machine to a prime mover. The disc comprises an inner region (42) for connection to a rotating component of the electrical machine, and an outer region (46) for connection to a rotating component of the prime mover, the inner region and the outer region lying in a different plane. The disc further comprises an intermediate region (42) between the inner region and the outer region, the intermediate region comprising a plurality of slots (52). This may allow two or more discs to be stacked together in such a way that interference between the surface profiles of adjacent discs is reduced or avoided. Furthermore, the slots in the intermediate region may reduce the strain placed on the material when forming the disc, thereby facilitating manufacture.

A flexible coupling includes a flexure, a first drive member defining an axis and connected to the flexure, and a second drive member. The second drive member defines an axis and is connected to the flexure on a side of the flexure opposite the first drive member. An angular stop is fixed within the first drive member, extends through a portion of the second drive member, and is arranged to limit angular misalignment of the first drive member axis relative to the second drive member axis while transmitting torque between the first and second drive members.
