A reverse input blocking clutch has: a pressed member having a pressed surface; an input member having an input-side engaging portion; an output member having an output-side engaging portion; and an engaging element having an engaging element main body and a link member to move in the first direction away from or toward the pressed surface. The engaging element main body has a pair of main body plates arranged to overlap in the axial direction, and a pivot support shaft arranged on the side in the first direction closer to the pressed surface than the input-side engaging portion with the both side portions supported by the pair of main body plates. One pressing surface facing the pressed surface is provided on one main body plate, and the other pressing surface is provided on the other main body plate.

The assembly has first and second coupling members each of which is supported for rotation about a common rotational axis and at least one locking member for selectively mechanically coupling the coupling members together. The device includes a stator structure including at least one electromagnetic source and a translator structure configured to be coupled to the second coupling member to rotate therewith. The translator structure includes at least one plunger which is elastically deformable in an axial direction to provide the device with compliance. Each plunger has a free end portion configured to move within a passage to engage and actuate a locking member within a pocket in the second coupling member.

A two-mode rocker clutch, including: a clutch gear; a housing; a first pawl including an end and a portion disposed within the housing; an actuation assembly; a second pawl including a portion disposed within the housing; and a resilient element urging the second pawl into contact with the clutch gear. For a one-way mode, the clutch gear is rotatable, with respect to the housing, only in a first circumferential direction. To transition from the one-way mode to a locked mode: the second pawl blocks rotation of the clutch gear, with respect to the housing, in a second circumferential direction, opposite the first circumferential direction; the actuation assembly is arranged to pivot the first pawl into contact with the clutch gear; and the end of the first pawl is arranged to block rotation of the clutch gear, with respect to the housing, in the first circumferential direction.

PERMANENTLY ENGAGED STARTER ASSEMBLY

A permanently engaged starter system for use in a vehicle, with the vehicle including a crankshaft and an engine block, includes a dual-mass flywheel and a permanently engaged starter assembly. The dual-mass flywheel extends along an axis and has an inner diameter portion disposed about and adjacent the axis and an outer diameter portion disposed about the axis such that the inner diameter portion is disposed between the outer diameter portion and the axis. The permanently engaged starter assembly includes a one-way clutch and a ring gear. The one-way clutch extends along the axis and includes an inner member disposed about the axis and an outer member disposed about the inner member. The ring gear is rotatably coupled to the one-way clutch and is adapted to be rotatably coupled to the outer diameter portion of the dual-mass flywheel through the one-way clutch.

REVERSE INPUT BLOCKING CLUTCH AND ACTUATOR

Provided is a reverse input blocking clutch capable of easily releasing a state in which rotation of an output member is prevented or suppressed.

The reverse input blocking clutch 5 includes an input member 14, an output member 15, a pressed member 16, and an engaging member 17. When a rotational torque is inputted to the input member 14, the engaging member 17 moves in a direction away from a pressed surface 28 of the pressed member 16 due to engagement with the input member 14, and transmits the rotational torque inputted to the input member 14 to the output member 15 due to engagement with the output member 15; and when rotational torque is reversely inputted to the output member 15, moves in the direction closer to the pressed surface 28 based on engagement with the output member 15, and by being pressed against the pressed surface 28 does not transmit the rotational torque reversely inputted to the output member 15 to the input member 14, or transmits only part thereof to the input member 14 due to engagement with the input member 14.

Selectable one-way clutch

A selectable one-way clutch includes: a pocket plate including pockets provided along a circumferential direction on one surface; a notch plate that is rotatable with respect to the pocket plate, the notch plate including notches provided along a circumferential direction on a surface facing the one surface; struts that are plate-shaped and housed in the respective pockets; and a selector plate disposed between the pocket plate and the notch plate, and configured to switch, by rotating coaxially with the pocket plate, between: a state in which the struts have risen toward the notch plate; and a state in which the struts are housed in the respective pockets. The notch plate includes flat portions between the notches that are adjacent in the circumferential direction, and each flat portion includes a first recess at a position where the corresponding strut having risen toward the notch plate is brought into contact.
