Plate assemblies including floating wear linings for multi-disk brake systems and methods for reducing vibration in a multi-disk brake system
A plate assembly for a multi-disk brake system is provided. The plate assembly includes at least one of a pressure plate or an end plate and a floating plate wear liner mounted against the at least one of the pressure plate or the end plate. The floating plate wear liner is configured to contact a contact surface of an adjacent rotatable friction disk in response to the multi-disk brake system being actuated.
BRAKE DISC AND A VEHICLE
A brake disc configured to be connected to a vehicle axle and to be squeezed between brake pads, comprising a central disc body (30) having a first and a second side (32, 34), wherein the second side faces in the opposite direction compared to the first side; a first and a second disc plate (36, 38), each disc plate having a wear surface for producing friction when a brake pad is pressed against the wear surface. The disc plates are releasably secured to said first side and second sides, respectively, so as to enable the first and second disc plates to be replaced by other disc plates. A connecting member (64) prevents rotation of the disc plates relative to the central disc body, the connecting member extending from the first disc plate, through a passage (58) in the central disc body, to the second disc plate. Also presented is a vehicle comprising such a brake disc.
BRAKE DISC AND A VEHICLE
A brake disc configured to be connected to a vehicle axle and to be squeezed between brake pads, comprising a central disc body (30) having a first and a second side, wherein the second side faces in the opposite direction compared to the first side; a first and a second disc plate (36, 38), each disc plate having a wear surface for producing friction when a brake pad is pressed against the wear surface; wherein the disc plates are releasably secured to said first side and said second side, respectively, of said central disc body, so as to enable the first and second disc plates to be replaced by other disc plates; and an enveloping sleeve (50) releasably secured to an outer circumference of the central disc body so as to apply a radially inwardly directed pressure to the disc plates.
Brake with dust retaining assembly
A dust retainer for a brake system comprising a retainer receptacle mounted integrally to one or more components of the brake assembly, wherein the retainer receptacle comprises a drum have first and second open ends, one open end being secured to a component of the brake system and the other open end being closed by a dust retainer cap, the drum defining a space within which a brake disk of the brake system is located, in use, wherein removal of the dust retainer cap allows the brake disk to be removed from the open end of the retainer drum, and a removable drawer integrated in the drum. A fastening means to removably secure brake components to each other is also disclosed.
Brake Pad Monitor with Conductivity Measurement
A brake pad apparatus having a conductivity sensor disposed thereon operable to generate conductivity data corresponding to the remaining thickness of the brake pad's friction lining. The conductivity data may be analyzed by a processor to estimate the remaining life of the brake pad for purposes of maintenance, diagnostic, or repair. The conductivity sensor may utilize a conductivity probe that comprises one or more insulation coatings to insulate conductive material from the friction lining. The brake pad apparatus may further comprise a wireless transmitter to transmit data to a processor external to the brake pad apparatus.
BRAKE PAD ASSEMBLY
This brake pad assembly (1) for disk brakes, in particular in rail vehicles, comprises a main plate (2), pad modules (3) attached to the plate, which have a friction lining (9) and a backing plate (10), means (16) for attaching a respective pad module (3) to the plate (2), a plurality of bushes (7), each attachment means being arranged in a respective bush (7), which is inserted into orifices (11,6) provided facing each other in the backing plate (10) and in the main plate (2), through an opening (8) in the friction lining (9). According to the invention, the orifice for receiving the bush in the main plate is a blind hole (6), a bore (15) with a smaller diameter than that of the blind hole (6) being provided in the bottom of said blind hole, said bore (15) passing through the main plate (2), a rivet (16) being inserted into said bore inside the bush (7), said rivet linking the main plate (2) and the backing plate (10). The present invention therefore makes it possible to produce a brake pad assembly in which the link between the pad module and the main plate has a structure that is as simple as possible, while being reliable.
BRAKE SHOE
A brake shoe, in particular of a drum brake for utility vehicles, comprising a lining carrier with an arrangement face for arranging a brake lining, a fastening area which is configured to be placed in engagement with a fastening means for fastening the brake lining, wherein the fastening area is embodied so as to be movable in a resettable fashion with respect to the arrangement face.
Shoe for a drum brake, and associated drum brake
The invention concerns in particular a lining-holder cartridge for a drum brake equipped with shoes comprising a block provided with a rim for fixing a friction lining, the assembly forming a shoe for a drum brake, wherein it comprises a curved support in the form of a cylinder sector able to be fixed directly to the rim of said block, and it is provided with a friction lining with a shape adapted to that of said support. The invention greatly simplifies the replacement of drum brake linings, without removal of the brake blocks.
Elevator brake pad mounting systems and methods for making and using same
An elevator braking system comprises a wedge having a brake pad attachment section. The brake pad attachment section has a recessed brake pad receiving portion and a recessed side plate receiving portion. The system includes a brake pad having a notch. The brake pad is configured to be received within the recessed brake pad receiving portion. The system comprises a side plate having a fastener receiving portion and an overhanging portion that is perpendicular to the fastener receiving portion. The overhanging portion mates with the notch when the side plate is secured to the recessed side plate receiving portion.
SEGMENTED WEAR LINER
A friction disk may comprise a friction disk core and a wear liner coupled to the friction disk core. A depression may be formed in a surface of the friction disk core. The wear liner may comprise a protrusion extending from a non-wear surface of the wear liner. The protrusion may be positioned within the depression of the friction disk core.
