Gas spring with travel control
In one embodiment, a gas spring having a travel control includes positive and negative chambers and a valve mechanism that controls the fluid communication between the chambers. The valve mechanism includes a valve bore that while only moving a small amount, allows for large changes in gas spring travel length.
MULTI-MODE AIR SHOCK
A multi-mode air shock is disclosed herein. The air shock includes an air spring having a primary air chamber, and a damper having an insertion end to telescope within the primary air chamber and a coupler to couple with a portion of a vehicle. An adjuster housing is fixedly coupled to an end of the air spring opposite of the damper, the adjuster housing having a secondary air chamber in communication with the primary air chamber and a mounting structure to couple with a different portion of the vehicle. There is a bulkhead with a valve to open or close the fluid communication between the primary air chamber and the secondary air chamber. The air shock also includes a tertiary air chamber in fluid communication with the secondary air chamber but not in fluid communication with the primary air chamber except via the secondary air chamber.
DEVICE FOR TRIGGERING A GAS SPRING
The invention relates to a device (10) for triggering a gas spring (1), comprising an actuating apparatus (2), an actuating element (4), which is operatively connected to the actuating apparatus (2) and acts on an end trigger (3) of the gas spring (1), and a housing (20), wherein the housing (20) has a gas-spring connection hole (70), by means of which the upper end region of the gas spring (1) can be connected with the trigger (3) fed through into the interior of the housing (20), the gas-spring connection hole (70) is designed a through-hole, and means for the clamping fixation of the upper end region of the gas spring (1) inserted into the hole are present, characterized in that the housing (20) has an open slot (60), which extends from the gas-spring connection hole (70) to the end outer face (66) of the housing (20) and over the length of the gas-spring connection hole (70) at least in some regions, a left and a right protruding side wall region (68.1, 68.2) are formed by means of the slot (60), and the means for clamping and fixing are present in the region of the left and the right side wall regions (68.1, 68.2), which means for clamping and fixing clamp the left and the right side wall regions (68.1, 68.2) to each other, whereby a clamping force is applied to the end region of the gas spring (1) inserted into the gas-spring connection hole (70).
PISTON-CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
A piston-cylinder assembly includes a cylinder having a cylinder interior filled with a fluid and divided by a piston, which is axially displaceable in cylinder, into a first working space and a second working space. A piston rod is arranged on piston and is guided through second working space and through an end-side second closure in a manner sealed off to the outside at the second end of the cylinder. The retraction stroke of piston and piston rod is restricted by a stop which is arranged in cylinder and against which piston comes to bear directly or indirectly, wherein the axial position of the stop in cylinder is variably adjustable by an adjustment device.
