The compound impact-resistant device includes an inner cylinder, a first pressure sensor and an outer cylinder; an inner cavity of the inner cylinder is connected to a magnetorheological damper, a spiral valve element, a floating piston and a spring from bottom to top; and the outer cylinder is connected to a piston rod, a bottom end of the piston rod penetrates a top of the inner cylinder, the spring and the floating piston to be connected to the spiral valve element, and a portion below the spiral valve element is filled with hydraulic oil. The compound impact-resistant device can provide specific initial support force and achieve active self-adaptation to dynamic impact, thus solving the problems that traditional hydraulic buffers cannot provide initial support force and traditional mechanical crushing members have difficulty in providing large support force.
Advanced hydraulic damper spool valve
A hydraulic damper spool valve (15) includes a pair of resilient energy storage members (47, 49) one of which is disposed between each of a valve spool (39, 41) and a valve body dividing section (27) so as to bias the valve spools (39, 41) in opposing directions to the forces generated by the operating pressures in the hydraulic fluid of the hydraulic damper (1). The valve spools (39, 41) are configured to vary the hydraulic flow restriction between the upper portion (11) and the lower portion (13) of the hydraulic damper (1). A compression hydraulic flow path is structurally separate from a rebound hydraulic flow path to prevent backflow via the other hydraulic flow path during hydraulic flow in either direction, each said flow path communicating with only the at least one shaped aperture (35, 37) adjacent the opposing end of one of the valve sleeves (23, 25).
Shock Absorber Assembly
A shock absorber is provided having a cylinder, a piston rod, a piston body, and a valve. The cylinder is configured to receive fluid. The piston body is connected to the piston rod and is configured to reciprocate within the cylinder between a compression chamber and a rebound chamber. The valve is provided by the piston body having a fluid flow port, a valve seat, a circumferential valving element, and a spring configured to urge the valve body into the valve seat. A primary damping valve and an auxiliary damping valve are also provided.
Methods and apparatus for position sensitive suspension damping
An apparatus and system are disclosed that provide position sensitive suspension damping. A damping unit includes a piston mounted in a fluid-filled cylinder. A vented path in the piston may be fluidly coupled to a bore formed in one end of the piston rod, creating a flow path for fluid to flow from a first side of the piston to a second side of the piston during a compression stroke. The flow path may be blocked by a needle configured to engage the bore as the damping unit is substantially fully compressed, thereby causing the damping rate of the damping unit to increase. In one embodiment, the piston includes multiple bypass flow paths operable during the compression stroke or the rebound stroke of the damping unit. One or more of the bypass flow paths may be restricted by one or more shims mounted on the piston.
ENVIRONMENTAL BASED SHEAR THICKENING FLUID CONTROL METHOD AND MECHANISM
A head unit system for controlling motion of an object includes an environment sensor and a head unit device that include shear thickening fluid (STF) and a chamber configured to contain the STF. The chamber further includes front and back channels. The head unit device further includes a piston housed at least partially radially within the piston compartment and separating the back channel and the front channel. The piston includes a first piston bypass and a second piston bypasses to control flow of the STF between opposite sides of the piston. The chamber further includes a set of fluid flow sensors and a set of fluid manipulation emitters to control the flow of the STF to cause selection of one of a variety of shear rates for the STF within the chamber to abate an external factor of concern associated with an external environment as sensed by the environment sensor.
PATTERN BASED SHEAR THICKENING FLUID OBJECT CONTROL METHOD AND MECHANISM
A head unit system for controlling motion of an object includes a secondary object sensor and a head unit device that include shear thickening fluid (STF) and a chamber configured to contain the STF. The chamber further includes a front channel and a back channel. The head unit device further includes a piston housed at least partially radially within the piston compartment and separating the back channel and the front channel. The piston includes a first piston bypass and a second piston bypasses to control flow of the STF between opposite sides of the piston. The chamber further includes a set of fluid flow sensors and a set of fluid manipulation emitters to control the flow of the STF to cause selection of one of a variety of shear rates for the STF within the chamber to control motion of the object with regards to a secondary object.
AUTOMOTIVE HYDRAULIC SHOCK ABSORBER
An automotive hydraulic shock absorber, comprises a pressure cylinder, an auxiliary reservoir and a piston assembly, wherein said piston assembly comprises an annular piston comprised of a plurality of crossing flow ports on its upper and lower faces, a piston shaft, and shim stacks on both faces of said piston, partially or fully covering said flow ports, suitable to exert a resistance to the flow of hydraulic fluid in said pressure cylinder, when said piston travels through hydraulic fluid.
Damping valve for a vibration damper
A damping valve having a damping valve body with at least one flow channel for damping medium. A valve rod is arranged in the flow channel. The valve rod cooperates with a valve disk and a valve seat surface. The valve rod carries a further valve disk that cooperates with a second valve seat surface. The first valve disk together with the first valve seat surface forms a first partial valve having a first permanently open pilot orifice cross section, and the second valve disk together with the second valve seat surface forms a second partial valve having a second pilot orifice cross section, and a shuttle valve is formed which opens one partial valve and closes the other partial valve depending on the flow direction.
