Beltdrive tensioner for agricultural equipment
A tensioner assembly for tensioning a belt including a moveable arm, a first tensioner pulley mounted to the moveable arm, and a second tensioner pulley mounted to the moveable arm. In a first position of the moveable arm corresponding to a forward drive configuration, the first tensioner pulley is positioned in contact with the belt while the second tensioner pulley is spaced apart from the belt. In a second position of the moveable arm corresponding to a reverse drive configuration, the second tensioner pulley is positioned in contact with the belt while the first tensioner pulley is spaced apart from the belt.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TENSIONING A BELT OF A BELT DRIVE OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Methods and systems are provided for tensioning a belt of a belt drive of an internal combustion engine. In one example, a movable tensioning means assigned to an active tensioner is provided, which applies a force to a belt of a belt drive, and the active tensioner is controlled such that a compression of a spring of the tensioner is at least countered, so that a movement of the tensioning means under the load of the belt is at least hindered. The belt is then excited to vibration in a contact zone between the belt and the movable tensioning means by use of a starter so that the tensioning means exposed to the force of the spring is moved further in the direction of the belt under expansion of the spring, whereby the belt is tensioned.
ENDLESS DRIVE ARRANGEMENT WITH ACTIVE IDLER
In an aspect, an endless drive arrangement for an engine is provided and includes a crankshaft pulley that is drivable by a crankshaft of the engine, a secondary motive device that is operable to drive a secondary motive device pulley; an endless drive member that is engaged with the crankshaft pulley and the secondary motive device pulley, wherein the endless drive arrangement is operable in a first mode in which tension in a first span of the endless drive member is lower tension than a second span of the endless drive member and in a second mode in which tension in the second span of the endless drive member is lower than tension in the first span of the endless drive member; first and second tensioners may move as needed to maintain tension in first and second spans of the belt.
Variable belt tensioner for an internal combustion engine
The present disclosure describes a variable belt tensioner of an internal combustion engine for adjusting a belt tensioning. The tensioner includes in a series configuration an electric motor, a worm drive, a lever drive and a belt tensioner roller. The worm drive is driven by the electric motor and is mechanically connected to the lever drive for transmitting a rotation thereto. The lever drive is mechanically connected to the belt tensioner roller for transmitting a translation thereto, thus allowing the belt tensioner roller to adjust the belt tensioning.
Controlled tensioner for an accessory drive and accessory drive comprising said tensioner
A tensioner for a start-stop accessory drive comprises a movable support, a pulley carried by the support to contact a belt of the drive, a spring to load the support so as to tension the belt, and an actuator controlled and movable to push said pulley against the belt in one direction by means of a load in parallel and additional with respect to that of the spring and an irreversible device which enables the action of the actuator and prevents a displacement of said support in response to the loads of the belt.
Tensioner with multiple spring rates
In a first aspect, a tensioner is provided which includes: an arm, including a pivot mount; a pulley rotatably mounted to the arm; and a strut pivotally connected to the arm. The strut includes: a base, having a pivot mount; a first body moveable relative to the base; a first resilient element connected between the base and the first body, the first resilient element having a first stiffness coefficient; a second body moveable relative to the first body, the second body having a pivot mount; a second resilient element connected between the first body and the second body, the second resilient element having a second stiffness coefficient that is lower than the first stiffness coefficient; and an actuator, connected to the base and first body, for selectively moving the first body towards the base and compressing the first resilient element.
Automatic adjustment and monitoring of a belt drive
The invention relates to a belt-tensioning device comprising a tensioning device for generating a force for tensioning a belt in a belt drive; a measuring device for measuring a belt tension or a measurement variable corresponding to the belt tension; and an adjustment device for adjusting the force generated by the tensioning device based on signals of the measuring device.
