20170292590 · 2017-10-12 ·

A pulley assembly for a high-speed continuously variable transmission includes a drive pulley, a shaft sleeve, a movable pulley, rollers, and a back pressure disc. The movable pulley has a shaft portion fitted on the shaft sleeve. The movable pulley has a disc chamber radially formed with multiple pairs of retaining wall pieces. A receiving room is defined between each pair of the retaining wall pieces. The bottom of the receiving room has an inclined push surface. The rollers are received in the receiving rooms. The back pressure disc includes a disc body having a complete inner conical surface. The back pressure disc is subject to the shaft sleeve and unable to be axially displaced along an output shaft. The peripheral edge of the disc body is embedded into the disc chamber of the movable pulley. The inner conical surface is pressed against the rollers.

There is provided a V-belt type continuously variable transmission of an air-cooled type mounted on a vehicle. The V-belt type continuously variable transmission includes an intake port for taking air into the V-belt type continuously variable transmission, and an exhaust port for exhausting the taken air from the V-belt type continuously variable transmission. The V-belt type continuously variable transmission further includes at least one of an electric intake fan connected to the intake port directly or via an intake duct, and an electric exhaust fan connected to the exhaust port directly or via an exhaust duct.

Transmission belt element and transmission belt

An element for a transmission belt that is wound around a primary pulley and a secondary pulley of a continuously variable transmission includes: a trunk portion having a saddle surface that is in contact with a ring of the transmission belt; and a pair of pillar portions extending from the trunk portion so as to be positioned on both sides of the saddle surface in a width direction. The saddle surface is a convex surface that is formed by an elliptic arc and satisfies b/a≤0.015 when a long diameter of the elliptic arc is regarded as “a” and a short diameter of the elliptic arc is regarded as “b”. In this way, it is possible to optimize the stress distribution of the ring that is in contact with the saddle surface and improve the durability of the ring and the transmission belt.

A continuously variable transmission includes an input pulley (1) in which a pair of pulley halves (4) with pulley faces (4a) form a V-groove (6), an input shaft (2) which journals the input pulley (1), and an endless transmission member (5) wound on the input pulley (1). One of the pulley halves (4) of the input pulley (1) has a piston part (16) relatively rotatable with respect to the input shaft (2) and a pulley half disc (13) slidable on the surface of the piston part (16) through the intermediary of a friction reducing part (11) between the piston part (16) and the endless transmission member (5). The pulley half disc (13) is splined to and integrally rotated with the input shaft (2).
