Vehicular differential apparatus
A vehicular differential apparatus includes: a differential case; a first output portion in which a first coupling member and a first side gear mesh with each other via helical teeth; a second output portion in which a second coupling member and a second side gear mesh with each other via helical teeth; and a center washer 30 disposed between the first and second output portions. A clearance through which the first coupling member is movable in an axial direction between the center washer and the first sidewall portion is different in axial width from that through which the first side gear is movable in that direction therebetween. A clearance through which the second coupling member is movable in the axial direction between the center washer and the second sidewall portion is different in axial width from that through which the second side gear is movable in that direction therebetween.

Limited slip inter-axle differential
The present invention provides an improved inter-axle differential assembly to limit axle tire slip by limiting the excessive inter-axle differentiation between front and rear axles in a tandem axle set. The present invention provides an inter-axle differential assembly comprising a differential case including a cylindrical housing, an annular axial end surface connected to the cylindrical housing, an end cover plate wherein the annular axial end surface and the end cover plate include openings for receiving coaxial input and output shafts, a hollow chamber defined by the cylindrical housing, the annular axial end surface, and the end cover plate which houses differential gear assembly, and an unitary gear set extending continuously in the radial direction from the cylindrical housing.

GEAR TOOTH CROWNING ARRANGEMENT
A parallel axis gear configuration constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure can include a first gear having a first gear tooth that includes a lead crowning across a face width thereof. The lead crowning can include (i) a first lead crown defined from a centerline to a transition point and (ii) a second lead crown defined from the transition point to a first end point. The lead crowning can include a drop-off magnitude that is greater at the second lead crown than the first lead crown.
