Attraction Systems for Pests and Use Thereof
The present application is directed to a system and device for attraction of pests. This system comprises CO.sub.2-releasing microorganisms, and also nutrients specific to these microorganisms, and this system, or the device, comprises one or more biodegradable biopolymers and allows CO.sub.2, and optionally other attractants, to be released over a period of more than 20 days. Furthermore, the present application provides for the use of such a system or such a device for the attraction of pests, more particularly of maize or potato pests, such as larvae of the Western corn rootworm or wire worm. The present application is also directed, lastly, to methods for attracting pests, more particularly pests of maize or potatoes, such as the larvae of the Western corn rootworm, or for wire worms, with the systems or devices of the invention being positioned in the immediate vicinity of the plants, but preferably not directly on the plants.
Bait stations
Bait stations are disclosed that include a housing having an upper casing and a lower casing coupled to form an interior cavity. A pad, gel, or variations thereof that carry food are disposed within the interior cavity. The lower casing includes a base having a peripheral flange that defines an outer edge, an outer wall that is spaced apart from the outer edge and extends upwardly from the peripheral base flange to a top edge, and an inner wall that extends from the top edge to a first surface to define a receiving space therein. The upper casing includes a plurality of apertures that are configured to allow insects therethrough into the interior cavity.
Pest detection
A system (10) for remote detection of pests, in this case as applied to a domestic dwelling (11) where a base station (12) communicates with eight detector or monitor units (13). The dotted (lines (14) indicate wired or wireless communication between the units (13) and the base station (12). As used herein the expressions monitor and detector are used interchangeably or where the detector is used as part of a box or cartridge where the detector is part (and may be reusable and separable) the whole unit including the detector part may be referred to as a monitor.

The present invention relates to a device and a method for immobilizing plant pests for identification purposes.
Above-ground termite station
In an above-ground termite station for detecting and controlling termites above ground in an operating configuration of the termite station, a container of the termite station defines an interior space and is at least in part configured for abutting against and being mounted on an above-ground mounting surface. The container is configurable between a closed configuration and an open configuration in which the interior space of the container is accessible while the container is mounted on the mounting surface. A cartridge is sized and configured for insertion in and removal from the interior space of the container and is generally an aggregation member, a bait matrix separate from the aggregation member, and a holder at least in part holding the aggregation member and bait matrix in assembly with the holder for positioning of the cartridge relative to the interior space of the container as a single unit.
Active Probe, System and Method for Pest Detection
A pest detector (1) for actively detecting pest activity within the environs of a structure. The pest detector includes a pest detection unit (2) that detects pest activity through the analysis of sounds of pest activity within a pest bait. The pest bait is typically timber or cellulose material (3). Upon detection of pest activity, a signal is sent to wireless transmitting device which transmits a radio frequency signal which includes data identifying the pest detector. Advantageously, the radio frequency is in the cellular radio frequency spectrum and is transmitted via the cellular radio network to a remote base station. The signal can be in the form of a short message service message. In this way, the pest detector can be remotely monitored and any pest activity dealt with appropriately. The pest detector can be used within a pest detection system and the pest detection unit can be retrofitted to known pest monitoring systems.
Waste baskets or the like, with insect traps
A container is combined with a base having insect combating features, i.e. for trapping and/or poisoning of insects, preferably but not necessarily combined with insect attracting elements. In particular, the container may be a waste basket, and the targeted insects may be bed bugs, and/or roaches, and/or ants. The assembly has a container portion and a base portion. The interior of the base portion is accessible by insects via one or more small gaps or openings, and contains the trapping and/or poisoning elements, which may include a replaceable glue strip or the like. Preferably, the assembly is also be provided with insect attracting means, which may include chemical attractants, carbon dioxide generation, and/or heat. In some embodiments, separate areas may be provided to combat different insects.
PESTICIDAL TAPE FOR CONTROLLING CRAWLING PESTS
In a tape for controlling crawling pests, on the first side (S1) is a carrier layer having a multitude of vertically extending structures, and on the opposite side (S2) is a means for attaching the tape to a surface. At least the first side (S1) is impregnated with a composition of A) 0.1 to 45% by weight (based on the total of A plus B) of one or more insecticides and B) 99.9 to 55% by weight (based on the total of A plus B) of an (meth)acrylate binder of one or more homo- or copolymer having units derived from one or more acrylates and/or methacrylates.
Dual action lethal containers, systems, methods and compositions for killing adult mosquitos and larvae
Dual action lethal containers, systems, methods, compositions and formulas used to kill mosquitoes and their larvae. The containers can have separate interior larvicidal and adulticidal coatings separated from each other by horizontal water line holes in the container. Another container can use a novel combined coating of a larvicidal and adulticidal coating. Unique compositions of adulticidal coatings, larvicidal coatings and combined adulticidal and larvicidal coatings can be used as liners.
Compositions and methods for controlling a honey bee parasitic mite infestation
As described below, the present invention features methods and compositions for controlling a honey bee parasitic mite or for the treatment or prevention of a parasitic mite infestation in a honey bee hive. In particular embodiments, the invention provides a miticidal delivery device, wherein the device is a corrugated strip comprising a liquid composition comprising at least about 15% potassium salts of hop beta acids, solvent and an emulsifier.
