Bait Packet and Bait Packet Assembly
A bait packet includes a container defining a bait containing space with a bait in the bait containing space and an access structure protruding from the container into the bait containing space. The access structure has a first portion that is above a level of the bait in a first orientation of the bait packet and a second portion different from the first portion that is above the level of the bait in a second orientation of the bait packet. The second orientation is approximately perpendicular to the first orientation.
Bioactive peptides having detrimental effects on pest slugs
Provided herein are synthetic peptides developed from slug and insect neuropeptides. Peptides described can be used to repel, control or deter slugs, including the gray garden slug (Deroceras reticulatum), from feeding on agricultural and horticultural plants. The peptides can be combined with bait materials, or applied directly to plants or areas, or produced by genetically modified plants.
Durable and Edible Bait Roll Ups, Systems and Methods
Bait stations, devices, apparatus, systems and methods for providing gel baits rolled in a wax coated edible paper for killing insects, such as but not limited to cockroaches Silverfish, ants, and yellow jackets. Bait Roll-ups include gel baits encapsulated in a coated or uncoated edible rice paper are intended for killing insects such as but not limited to cockroaches Silverfish, ants, and yellow jackets. The Bait Roll-up can be handled by bait applicators without physically touching the gel bait. The Bait Roll-up can also be applied directly to insect harborages without exposing surfaces to insecticide. Applicators can handle the Bait Roll-ups without physically touching the gel bait, thus reducing any potential for contamination. The rice paper can be additionally soaked in an insect attractant liquid, such as but not limited to oil, sugar water and the like to further attract insects.
PEST DETECTION
A system (10) for remote detection of pests, in this case as applied to a domestic dwelling (11) where a base station (12) communicates with eight detector or monitor units (13). The dotted (lines (14) indicate wired or wireless communication between the units (13) and the base station (12). As used herein the expressions monitor and detector are used interchangeably or where the detector is used as part of a box or cartridge where the detector is part (and may be reusable and separable) the whole unit including the detector part may be referred to as a monitor.
INSECT BAIT STATION WITH THROUGH-FLOOR ACCESS OPENINGS
A pest management apparatus comprising a base, a lid coupled to the base such that the lid and the base cooperate to form a chamber, and an inner tray disposed within the chamber, wherein at least a portion of the base is nested within at least a portion of the inner tray. The base comprises a floor defining openings aligned with openings of the inner tray such that pests can access the chamber through the openings of the base and the openings of the inner tray.
Liquid ant bait pack with tear-away tab
A liquid ant bait pack having a primary bait well and a plurality of feeding reservoirs for holding liquid bait is provided in which the walls of the feeding reservoirs as well as the primary bait well are sloped to facilitate ant access to the liquid bait held therein while reducing the risk of the ants falling into the bait and drowning. Ant access is further facilitated by dry platform areas positioned between the reservoirs. The inclusion of multiple feeding reservoirs, the bait well and the dry platform areas provides an increased area over which ants can simultaneously access the bait. The entrance to the bait pack is sealed during manufacture and then readily opened by the consumer using a tear-off tab that can removed without the need for any tools.
