Proportionally damped power transfer device using torsion spring force
In an aspect, a power transfer device, such as a decoupler, is provided for transferring torque between a shaft and a belt. The device includes: a hub configured to 5 couple to the shaft, a pulley rotatably coupled to the hub that includes a power transmitting surface configured to engage the belt, an isolation spring to transfer a rotational load from one of the pulley and the hub to the other of the pulley and the hub, optionally a one-way clutch to permit overrunning of one of the pulley and the hub relative to the other of the pulley and the hub in a first direction, and a damping member 10 positioned to be driven into frictional engagement with a friction surface by a force from the isolation spring acting on the damping member that varies based on the rotational load transferred by the isolation spring.
Rotary device with chambered member and method of making same
In one aspect, a rotary device is provided, and includes a shaft adapter, a chambered member, a seal member and at least one internal torque transfer member. The shaft adapter is connectible to a crankshaft or accessory shaft and defines an axis. The chambered member (e.g. a pulley) is rotatably connected to it, and at least partially encloses a chamber (e.g. for oil), and includes a circumferential portion, a first side wall, and a second side wall which is a separate member from the circumferential portion. One of the circumferential portion and the second side wall has projections thereon, and the other has valleys that mate with the projections with no clearance, so as to be able to transfer a torque of at least 10 Nm into one another without plastic deformation. A seal member is compressed between the second side wall and the circumferential portion.
Damper pulley
A damper pulley assembly for a vehicle engine is provided wherein the damper pulley assembly includes a hub, a pulley and a hybrid shield affixed to the hub. The hub may be affixed to the crankshaft. The hub includes a pulley contact surface. The pulley may be mounted on the hub at the pulley contact surface of the hub. The hybrid shield may be affixed to the hub. The hybrid shield may be configured to attenuate an axial flow of noise and vibration from the crank shaft when the crankshaft, the hub, and the pulley are rotating.
Sealing structure with torsional damper and oil seal
A sealing structure with a torsional damper and an oil seal includes a damper pulley and an oil seal. The damper pulley includes, in a disk part of a hub on a front cover side, an annular projection that protrudes between the window and the boss part. The oil seal includes a side lip and a flange. The side lip extends to the inside of an annular groove of the damper pulley. The flange is opposed to the projection of the damper pulley to cover the projection so that a gap is formed between the flange and the projection.

Pulley Structure and Method for Manufacturing Pulley Structure
The present invention provides a pulley structure (10) provided with: a tubular outer rotating body (2) having a belt (B) looped thereon; an inner rotating body (3) which is disposed radially inside the outer rotating body (2) and which is rotatable relative to the outer rotating body (2); and a torsional coil spring (4) which is arranged in a spring accommodating space (8) formed between the outer rotating body (2) and the inner rotating body (3). At least in a state in which the pulley structure (10) has not been operated even once, a grease (200) containing an antirust agent is applied to an opposing surface (34) of the inner rotating body 3 opposing an inner peripheral surface (42) of the torsional coil spring (4).
Isolating Decoupler
An isolating decoupler comprising a shaft, a pulley journalled to the shaft on at least one bearing, a one-way clutch engaged with the shaft, a torsion spring engaged between the one-way clutch and the pulley, the shaft comprises an inner race of the at least one bearing, and the torsion spring having an end welded to the one-way clutch and having another end welded to the pulley.
