Transmission and vehicle provided with such a transmission
The invention relates to a transmission comprising two circulating elements and a transmission element, such as a toothed belt. At least one circulating element comprises a number of contact elements for contact with the transmission element which determine a running radius of the transmission element, a radial guide for the contact elements, along which the latter are radially displaceable, displacement means for displacing the contact elements in the radial direction, wherein the transmission element has engagement elements such as teeth. Each of the contact elements comprises a base part which is in contact with the radial guide and with the displacement means, and an engagement member which is connected to the base part and is radially movable with respect to the base part, wherein the engagement member of at least one of the number of contact elements of the respective circulating element is in positive-locking contact with the transmission element.
CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE-RATIO TRANSMISSION
A continuously variable transmission including an input pulley having a first subassembly supported upon a first rotatably driven shaft and an output pulley having a second subassembly supported upon a second rotatable shaft. Each subassembly includes a plurality of left link elements extending from segmented pulley segments to a first shaft supported rotating element, along with a plurality of right link elements extending from the segmented pulley segments to a second shaft supported rotated element for positioning the segmented pulley segments in an outwardly circumferentially arrayed fashion about each of the first and second shafts. Axial displacement of a first and second pairs of said first and second shaft supporting elements in each of the input and output pulley subassemblies inversely varying a collective diameter formed by said arrangements of segmented pulley segments in order to maintain a constant circumference of a belt supported about the segmented pulley segments for each of the input and output pulleys.

Passive transmissions, and methods of making and using same
A transmission is presented, including a spool having a bore. An outer member disposed on the spool, and a cord is configured to at least partially wrap around the outer member. The outer member is configured to constrict and unconstrict to a force applied to the outer member. In this way, rotation of the spool causes a tension force to be applied to the cord, and a greater tension force in the cord will cause the outer member to constrict more than a lower tension force in the cord.

SHAFT DRIVEN SELF-POWERED LANDING GEAR WITH FRICTION DRIVE
A landing gear system includes a drive shaft extending through an axle. A wheel with a drive surface is rotatably coupled to the axle. A drive assembly, which has disengaged and engaged states, includes a drive element and an idler element. The drive element, which has an engagement feature, is coupled to the drive shaft for rotation about an axis. The engagement feature has first and second diameters when the drive assembly is in the disengaged and engaged states, respectively. The idler element is frictionally engaged with the engagement feature of the drive element to transfer rotation of the drive element to the wheel when the drive assembly is in the engaged state. The idler element is disengaged from at least one of the engagement feature of drive element and the wheel when the drive assembly is in the disengaged state.
TRANSMISSION MECHANISM
In a transmission mechanism (1A) having a main shaft, first and second disk sets (7A, 7B) each having first and second disks (10A, 11A, 10B, 11B) arranged in close proximity to and perpendicular to the main shaft, and a composite transmission wheel (S) including transmission wheels (18) comprising sprockets or pinions and guide rods (9), and configured to change speed by changing the radius of the composite transmission wheel (S), at least one clutch mechanism (21, 22) capable of switching each transmission wheel (18) between a rotation inhibited state and a rotation permitted state is provided, and via the clutch mechanism (21,22), each transmission wheel (18) is allowed to rotate during speed change operation and is prohibited from rotating during other than speed change operation.

Two-speed accessory drive pulley
An accessory drive pulley assembly is configured to transfer rotational power from an engine crankshaft to one or more vehicle accessories. The accessory drive pulley has an inner race rotatable about an axis and having an outer surface. An outer race is located radially outward from the inner race and has an inner surface facing the inner race. A wedge plate is located radially between the outer surface and the inner surface. The wedge plate is configured to expand and contract radially to selectively lock and unlock the inner race with the outer race. When locked, an associated pulley can rotate at a different speed than when unlocked.
